I mean what else is left to discuss? You built an awesome V70R. I'm building an awesome 850R. We know how it's done now. So the only thing left is to debate coolant, tires, oil, and sway bar end link pricing. LOL

Guys let's talk about windshield washer fluid. I feel like we've been neglecting that. Especially since I don't really use it anymore, I feel like I should have the best stuff in there since whatever I put in now will be a lifetime supply. I carry a microfiber towel and a spray bottle of waterless wash solution with me in my T-5R since I replaced the windshield for fear of scratching it with the wipers. So I just use that to clean the bugs off every time I stop when I'm driving at night in the summer. Also RainX the absolute shiit out of it so I don't use my wipers in rain anymore, either. About 4k miles since the windshield replacement and I think I've used the wipers three times. Like as in three total passes. Pretty happy with that considering probably like 400 or so of those miles were in the wet.

NO, NO, NO. YOU'RE WRONG. Scientific testing in a controlled environment shows that OE Volvo washer fluid ONLY WORKS at latitudes NORTH of 60 degrees as those found in SWEDEN. It was specially formulated for THAT region. You MUST use the fluid formulated for North America or you will RUIN your windshield. Period.

No this car has no AC at all.

AC delete bracket, all lines, drier, condenser removed. I have other cars with AC so it didn't make sense to overhaul the entire system during the engine swap.

Very nice, I like it! Any time I've mentioned deleting AC in any of my cars (an NB Miata I had a few months back, for example) my dad always flips out and tells me I'm insane. Don't get me wrong, I like AC, but I prefer having the windows down when possible. And in a car like a Miata, running the AC makes the car practically undrivable, so it makes sense to get rid of that extra weight.
My AC doesn't work in the R anyway, that's something I need to figure out once I take care of the important issues. Fortunately my GLT has ice cold AC!

I run either Walmart or Dollar Tree special washer fluid. Gotta cut costs somewhere!

And if Volvo doesn't make washer fluid, BMW does! Since the BMW and Volvo blue coolants are the same (so they say) you're probably safe to use BMW washer fluid concentrate. https://www.fcpeuro.com/products/bmw...te-83192221702

That lab has no idea what they are talking about! One time, about 37 years ago, I ran one ounce of the Volvo OE windshield washer fluid through a friend's Volvo while standing on the equator and the windshield was perfectly fine, so everything you know is wrong.

Is it possible to mount a do88 drop in IC in front of the AC condenser? Getting ready to do this install next

Today, I deleted my SAS stuff, installed green injectors, and replaced leaky rear can seals.

What vacuum line is this white hard line for?

Cannot see where it goes yet until I replace the turbo but it exits into the intake pipe as you can see.

Yes you could mount the IC up front in the stack. Just have to change the stack sandwich bolts probably.

It looks like it's going to your PTC. I just looked on my '98, but it's hard to see where it goes.

Edit... just grabbed a light and took a closer look. It goes to the hard line on top of the rear water pipe, just above where the lower radiator hose attaches.

Sure enough! Getting a p171 code currently, just after putting injectors on the car and replacing vacuum lines. Idle is really bad but it seems to even out under throttle. Is it vacuum or do I have a bad rebuilt injector? Bets?

Yeah that makes sense. There's one on the fuel rail and another along the line as it comes up the back of the engine isn't there?

Reconnect vac lines and proceed from there. Looks like the line to the fuel rail to me, too. I think some cars have that line in two pieces annoyingly.

Yeah that makes sense. There's one on the fuel rail and another along the line as it comes up the back of the engine isn't there?

The part on the fuel rail is the fuel rail damper, not a regulator. That's the regulator in your picture. That vacuum line on the bottom of that F connector should go to the hard line on the rear water pipe, and the other end of the hard line is where that yellow plastic vacuum hose connects.

Didn't do anything but admire it today. Went out to go to work and liked how it looked after raining and flower petals falling on the car.

Didn't know it would look so good in polkadot.

      Nature's confetti.

Yesterday I put some refurbished green injectors in as well as some new silicone IC hoses. Now I am getting a consistent P0171 Lean Bank 1 code.

Checked all the vacuum lines and silicone for leaks and found none. all the injectors seem to be seated perfectly with the one on cylinder 4 being able to rotate in the seals pretty easily. Not sure if this is evidence of a leak. I experimented by unplugging injectors individually to see how the car changed in idle and in the case of cylinder 4, the vehicle seemed to idle better rather than worse when unplugged.

What are the chances I have a bad injector in the bunch? Recommendations before I pull it apart again and put the old white injectors back in to see how it runs.

Went out to costco/homedepot and back, just wagons doing wagon things. 8foot lumber? no problemo

Also did a seafoam treatment via vacuum tree and oil change, made the idle soooooo much more smooth after the seafoam.

Try replacing the injector rubber gaskets. Mine had a leak. IPD sells an aftermarket set for cheap. Make sure to grease them before install.

Brother and I did the rain dance on Sunday...

Yup, it's rained every day since.

I also put the track wheels back on. The Yellow has been sitting in the garage since then, patiently waiting for Saturday Track Day with the Ontario Time Attack group. Can't wait!

I have that same or very similar welder. As a suggestion you want to weld hotter and with less wire speed based on those pics. Will get better weld penetration and less extra bead.

I will mention that to him. He is using a chart. I have no clue what he is doing but should learn.

Just have to be thankful, very good times for the car. The Volvo has been running GREAT, blinkers work, new switch does its thing, no more freak hazard engagements, got a maintenance plan planned. Engine is wonderful, hey. Got to love it.
