Well I was boosting around a few days ago and noticed smoke coming from the underside of the turbo heat shield,
      today this happened

hoping it's the turbo lines/seals and not a head gasket. A/c wasn't on so I don't think it's the evap. I was not getting rising coolant levels, milky oil, or bubbles in the coolant before any of this.

I'm betting your coolant drain hose let loose. As long as you didn't overheat it, I think you'll be alright!

Time to order some silicone turbo coolant hoses to go with those silicone radiator hoses you just bought from me

Iíve had Stoptech 309s in my Porsche Brembo bbk for the last year. Theyíre a great daily performance pad. Not quite as dusty the Porterfield R-4S I ran previously, but quieter and better when cold.

I havenít wrung the 309s out as hard as the R-4S yet, but they were fine with a dozen repeated 90-20 mph panic stops without fade when I was bedding them in.

Subjective feel. I would like to be more scientific but I need to dump these PZero AS+ and mount the Powerproof before I have tires good enough to really make the data useful.

Definitely feels much firmer than OEM Volvo. Have not pushed it hard enough to hit abs or lockup, but definitely feel more G forces when I push hard.

More data to compare. Have Akenobo on the rear with OEM 00R rotors. 2018 dated Zlines all around, SS flex lines all around.

Under 100 miles so far, but no increase in noise or vibration.

Oh joy... the padding is absolutely SATURATED.

Iím gonna pull the cowl and check the drains near the fuse box tomorrow, but are my shifter cables too close to the AC drain? Itís a little wet around the base of that hose, but it doesnít seem to trail down the foam. Itís only on the bottom on the floor, only up the side on the left by the door. And even so, itís only maybe an inch up the side.

Cleared the sunroof drains the other day, and they seem to be draining fine when I pour water down them. All this rain weíve gotten has been hell on all my cars... burned out the amp in my E90, now I have a stiff clutch pedal after driving through a puddle in this car yesterday.
Plus Iíll probably have to pull the carpets in my E39 too. Iíve got at least two water leaks in that car.

I just ran into this issue as well, kind of. I had these pads saturated in coolant years ago when my heater core let go. I though I had dried them out sufficiently but apparently not, its now years later and I removed the dash to fix some cracks and give the whole interior a clean. That's when I found the rust on the drivers floor board, it was pretty bad. This photo shows it post grinder

I cut the foam up close to the pedals and down the center tunnel to get it out of the car. Then I peeled the top rubber layer off of the foam and cleaned everything in car wash soap and used a large roller (like a rolling pin) to squeeze as much water out of the foam as possible. Two days sitting out in the sun and its all dry and smells so much better than it did before.

I wish I could point you to where your water might be coming in, but I haven't the foggiest. Have you tried setting up a garden hose to spray water at the car while your in it to pinpoint where the water it coming in from?

What did you do to your car today?

I havenít tried that yet, I felt like it was too slow/small of a leak to show much. But with the insane amount of rain weíve had this past week or two, who knows. Iíll just be happy to get in the car and not have it steamy/moist. It doesnít smell bad or anything, but I just despise humidity.
Fortunately the car passenger side carpet feels dry.

I did the same though, cut it right below the pedals and on the side. On the tunnel the foam feels dry, so thatís a good sign. Itís also dry up higher behind the pedals.
I really think itís that fuse box drain that Iím just now hearing about all over the place.

Thank goodness my floor hasnít developed any rust yet! Very little standing water, dried it with a paper towel and vacuumed up all the crumbled pieces of the rubber liner and carpet backing.

      It's custom.
3" in to single Magnaflow muffler to dual 2.5".
Bought locally from a private seller; full stainless, whopping $250 CAD cat-back.
It's quite deep in tone, no rasp at all. Bit of drone when starting, but completely silent at 30-40mph and 50-60mph.
The car finally has a voice now after all the years of the dual 98 mufflers.

Does anyone have some good suggestions as to what material to replace that foam with if it was too destroyed to dry out?

I'd be curious to hear the sound. I'm thinking of having something made up from a local shop.

It won't be. That is to say mine was really really bad, torn into 4 or five different jig saw looking pieces. I just washed, cleaned and dried them out as separate small foam pieces and they all just fit back together in the floor board. The weight of the rubber mat and carpet will keep in all in place.

You could always try to hit up a junk yard or find someone with a parts car for a better used foam pad. They are molded to the floor pan so going aftermarket with just a flat piece of foam might make the carpet sit odd.

Well I had to let the wife start driving my 2000 V70r (weekend run around ride) because she sold her Lexus yesterday. Been trying so hard to get her to like a new Volvo, even told her that we can do overseas delivery and take a trip. But the damn neighbor down the street brought over his buddy's Jeep Gladiator Rubicon this weekend and she wants one of those now. Now she is going to drive the R until she finds the right Jeep.

Got the carpet back into my car today, I had a good one without a hole in the corner from my cousin's old parts car, so I went ahead and put that one in. The weather has been sunny and dry the past few days (finally) so the foam dried quickly.

Turns out the leak was the plugged up drain in front of the fuse box under the cowl. Cleared that out, hopefully my floor stays dry.

Awesome guys for the Jeep stuff. Totally forgot about the Jeep flipping over during the lastest crash test. "Oh honey, check out what a Jeep can do to its self "

Also I can't believe how expensive they are. For really nothing luxurious. My 2017 Chevrolet 2500Hd with a diesel is more expensive on the window sticker but with all the discounts I paid less than a Jeep Gladiator with discounts is going for.
I been pushing for a Xc60 T8 too for her, but she wants a work truck/suv.

Agreed, i was stunned to see the price of the Gladiator Rubicon. All plastic, small bed, no advanced engineering or creature comforts. If she's really stuck on it....see if you can get a dealer to let you drive one for the weekend. After driving a lexus, she will more than likely hate the stiff bumpy ride of a Wrangler with a bed.

Wranglers already ride like crap from what I've heard, I could imagine how bad a pickup version would feel!

I think an xc90 would work for a work suv

Nice... definitely hear a little more growl from the cabin. I'm sure it would be better if I wasn't listening on my phone. Probably doesn't do it justice.

Do you still have VC etc in? Does the single muffler sit behind the rear subframe under the spare tire area?

Definitely would be cheaper to do one muffler and dual outlet!

I have it on good authority (tech & parts ppl at chrysler) that the front half is wrangler and the rear is literally a 1500. The parts catalog says something along that lines for look up.
