      Not so concerned about a fire. While they get hot, they'd need to be somewhere in the 400*C-500*C range before they could ignite anything, noticing surface temperatures of 90*C-100*C so far on the 6ohm resistors, but I'll continue to keep an eye on them. I'm more concerned with melting anything plastic near by. Of course, this is a bandaid solution. I would like to modify the CEM/REM in a way to eliminate the warnings, but I'm unsure of a solution for a 2005 and I haven't had the time to look into it myself

      Some resistor temperatures. Temperatures taken with hood/panel closed with enough time to reach max values, 4ways on, brakes held, and the engine running to maintain 13.8V. Readings taken with a Fluke 325 Type K probe.

      Outside Temperature - 2C

      Front -

      6ohm (outter) low beam - 136C
      8ohm (inner) signal - 131C
      Plate - 110C
      Ambient - 31C


      Rear

      8ohm signal - 85C
      8ohm brake - 100C
      Plate - 75C
      Ambient - 39C

      They are running hot, but are still what I consider safe and acceptable, just as long at you don't touch the . Outside temps are low so I'll measure them again once it warms up.

      The resistors are mounted inside an aluminum heat sink and I mounted them to the plates with thermal paste to aid with heat dissipation, which seems to be working well. A larger heat sink would make for a bulkier install, it would be much easier to split the load by wiring two lower value resistors in series, or two higher value resistors in parallel.

      that's well within the normal operating temp for a resistor that size.
      as long as it's not melting anything nearby I'd run it. They're wire wound yes? mostly you can run a wirewound resistor to 250 before issues.

      So i wanted to get your input on the subframe lift.

      Adding an inch, would you think C70/P80 120mm bolts would do?

      M14X120?

      And what size bolts are you using for your strut spacer?

      They are class 8.8 bolts that are blackened. If Volvo supplies the size you need from another application then go ahead and use it, otherwise a bolt supplier should have what you need.

      Unsure what sizes I'll need for the spacers, but whatever I chose will equal the original length + spacer height.

      Nah, just stupidity. Went a little hard parallel parking. Hit a high curb that I couldn't see under the snow and that I thought was a bit further back. Hoping is just the wheel and toe arm as I can find both quite easily.

      That's pretty cool. I'd love to have the space/time to play with mods like that. From what I know, the XC90 subframe mounts are higher relative to the subframe vs the XC70, this will drop subframe lower when mounted similar what subframe spacers are trying to accomplish. Hopefully it all works out. If I went through the trouble of this I'd try to swap in a V8 .

      It’s called lifted Volvo’s. I like the subframe idea but if I was to get one from a pick n pull, how would I pull this without the engine and trans? An overall great solution. I would get the rear with haldex and all the trimmings too.

      You use an engine support bar. Then just drop the engine and trans on the ground when you are done lol. Preferably you would attempt this at a yard that already has the cars up off the ground.
