      Wheel nut torque settings.

Was hunting high and low in the owners manual and could not find specs for this. Web had a great variety of ideas from 62 to 103 pounds. The Haynes Manual Volvo 1974 to 1988 240 series chapter 10 torque wrench settings has a range from 74 to 96 ibt ft (100 to 130Nm). Set mine to 81ibt ft, which was very close to where I was tightening with a tyre iron anyway.

      Vehicle fleet--------
1979 Volvo 242GT 2.3L(first car I ever brought and still own and drive it 25 years later)
1986 Volvo 240 2.3L Intercooled turbo carburettor (Built up by Scandinavian motors from R sports kit 1986)
1988 Volvo 240GLT 2.3L Station wagon (Every day family car still going strong at 330+ Km's)
1994 Chevrolet K2500 6.5 Turbo diesel (There are only so many volvo's you can drive at once)
1995 Volvo 850 T-5R (Because Volvo did make more than the 2 series)

My Bentley manual shows lug nuts are 115Nm/85ft lb, but they don't say wet or dry. I use a very small dab of anti-seize on mine with no problems.
'88 244 auto (parts car), '89 244 5 spd. (daily driver), '92 245 5 spd. (my car) '80 Holiday Rambler/Ford E350 (tow vehicle and track crash pad), '95 GMC K2500 (local hauler/back-up tow vehicle), '83 Mazda RX7 (race car when I have the funds), '99 Miska 20' car hauler.

      The man's prayer: "I'm a man, but I can change, ... if I have to, ... I guess."
