Yeah, just give them SW# 30679690. Generally $25 for the software + labor (that's where they'll get you).

Took the factory shift knob off and cut the pin, I couldn't press it out for the life of me...

Vacuum cap to hold the threaded shift knob in place:

Found a washer that fit on the top portion of the stick:

Threaded the boot tip through the washer to hold it in place:

      The finished result:

      nice!
a question to you. the center console... when I was looking at C30 R designs online for sale, a lot of them had the same thing as what I see in your pictures, seems like sort of tiny dents. every single one. weird reflections? does the material dent easily? what the heck is it?

because I've never been in an R Design in actual life. just photos.

    8. #76
Looks fantastic how did you black out the turn signal reflector?

I'm going to be opening my headlights to build an Audi s8 style switch back drl,
So I might as well black out the Orange side marker, turn signal reflector, and the other bits

I had dents in mine. So I switched to plastic elements and vinyl wrapped them.

Yeah every damn s40/v50/c30 suffers from this. The only thing to do is to buy brand new pieces (expensive as a mf) and be careful.

just gotta be careful. i guess it's like the belt, can't just undo it and let it go and then complain of scratches on the pillar

My mom has those dents only on the door handle however I won't be surprised if dents in the console show up. I plan on replacing it with the dark matte wood available in the c70. As far as I know this docent dent as severely as the metal.

I wish I had the alloy material, I got the plastic and it is not visually as pleasing as the other materials. It's good to know that it gets dented easily, however, even so, why anyone would ever drop anything on it is beyond me, unless you tamper with it. I guess, just don't keep junk in your car.

Plastidipped all the chrome bits, except the high beam reflectors.
On the S40, I used a tint spray to black out the amber side markers, so they still illuminated. This time 'round, I just plastidipped them so everything had a consistent matte black. If I get pulled over for not having proper side markers, I can peel the dip off. But I doubt that's why a cop would be pulling me over.

This is why I reused to have suction cup windshield mounts. They fall, they dent.

It's been a week and all seems to be good! Both the slave and the master were bad, which became apparent with the colder weather. Despite recently living in NY, this car was never driven during the winter; my guess as to why the previous owner never noticed the problem. All "commonly" worn parts on this car have now been replaced within the last 10k miles. I replaced a ton of stuff on the S40 at this mileage, so I just consider this an additional purchase to get another 100k miles out of this car.

In other news, I have finished building my shelf in place of the rear seats. The battery relocation is still to come.
I know the carpet doesn't match perfectly, but for $12 total investment, I'm not going to complain.

I also put in my S40 fire extinguisher mount; it does not interfere with seat positioning in any way.

More detailed pictures from the S40:

Only realised you sold the S40 MNIWT! Love the C30! The mod you did on your brake lights really helped the look of the rear of the car, rather than having the high-up brake lights. Nice car man

My welding friend has finished the rear upper sway bar, so I'll be picking it up tonight and hopefully have it painted and ready by the weekend.

Full LED conversion is now complete:

The bar has also been painted and installed. I cannot believe how much of a difference this bar has made for handling, which really makes you wonder how much the body must flex for it to be that noticeable...

One thing I disliked about the C30 was how unpredictable the rear end was. I just figured it was a lighter car and I would have to get used to it. But this bar makes it handle as well as my S40 did. Undoubtedly, this is because the C30 is just a tunnel back to the hatch, while the S40 had that rigid trunk deck and rear windscreen above the rear axle. I can tell exactly when the rear end is about to break loose, making me a lot more comfortable to push this car through the turns.

There are a few guys on C30Crew who are producing a style of these bars which allow you to keep your rear seats in. I would highly recommend it.

Painted silver to match the interior trim:

Bolts to the frame where the seat clips used to be, I still need to clean up the carpet cuts:

Nice. You think the rear end is unpredictable? That's weird maybe because I'm so used to it. For one thing I haven't spun my c30 yet no matter how hard I try. I should try Hoosiers and see if it will spin.

I'm sure once you're used to it, it's fine. But compared to my S40 and other cars I've driven, it was unpredictable. This is also coming from someone who bought a modified C30. I didn't build it up from stock, so I can't say how it used to feel.

Finished up my front grille project:

I'd say its very predictable... It's limits are not that far... But then again I've driven some built autox cars and always complain at how horrible this platform is

I know, right? 15s were more than sufficient on the S40, but with the bumped out fenders on the 30, it takes more to be flush with stock wheels...

Good news is, 25s fit in the rear with very little modification. Pictures to come once I finish the fronts!

Very nice! Those are more like adaptors since the extended studs are part of the kit.

Yeah, I'm really impressed with the quality of the GarageLine spacers. Lots of FoST guys are running them, which is where I bought mine from.

      Just a quick teaser.

Rear fenders "rolled," the car was still jacked up in this picture, hence the massive wheel gap

Removed the clips from the inside of the arch, then cut the rears a bit. The fronts did not require any cutting.

Cut back the wheel well liners.

Double stick taped the fender trim back on.

...and voila! 20mm spacers up front, 25mm in the rear. Flush with no rubbing!
