How many cloths does it take to do a moderately dirty car? I would guess quite a few. Looks like a good solution, though. Thanks for sharing the impressive results.

      Yep, no swirls.
      I'm sure they ship globally.

      Glad to post positive results.
Used three cloths. I washed them in hot water with regular laundry detergent, put them in the dryer and they came out as new.

By the way, microfibre cloths are available from many locations. And you might be surprised that using them with water alone works almost as well. You can use a microfibre cloth with no water on glass and it often gives the same result as using a glass cleaning detergent/product with a regular cloth or paper towel. And throw them in the regular laundry dozens or hundreds of times to re-use.

Just wanted to order that kit, but they only ship to the US and Canada... Bummer

I need to ask again because it is just unbelievable to me: if your car is dirty, and I mean with wintersalt, sand, and so on, after wiping it of, there really are no tiny little scratches? ( I mean the ones that are so fine, that you only see them in direct (sun)light)

At the end it doesnt matter cause I wont get my hands on it anyway...

I came upon one of those the other week on the highway to/from the south-shore beach and he started trying to bate me to race him a little. Aside from having mrs.m8o and my dogs with me, "a man's got to know his limitations". I know I don't own a straight-line racer and just kept a steady speed until my exit.

Assuming it was 1987 model with the max power, the specs were almost identical to a P*. 0-60 almost identical, but anything above 60 and the P* would eat it alive. The earlier models were less powerful...some by a dramatic amount. And if there were any corners involved, bye, bye Buick.

I thought those were 11-12 second cars? I need to refresh my memory. I guess I'm confusing it with modified ones, which is probably the norm.

Most can ignore, but for those of us older, this car was similar to the P* in terms of stealth and rarity and being built from a more common car.

      1982:

In 1982, the Regal Grand National debuted, but it is not really considered a true Grand National. Believe it or not, second to the LeSabre Grand National, this was the rarest of the bunch at only 215 units produced. It lacked the all-black look and used a lump of a 4.1-liter V-6 engine that produces a flat-lining 125 horsepower. Typically, we would leave this one off of the list, but, so you purists don’t curse us, here you go…

      1983:

If anyone tells you they have a 1983 Grand Natty, they’re full of it, as there wasn’t one built…

      1984:

In 1984, the Grand National actually started performing well, as it featured a 3.8-liter turbocharged V-6 engine that pumped out 200 horsepower and 300 pound-feet of torque. For those not around in the 1980s, you may be thinking “Well, my Civic has 200 horsepower, what’s so special?” Keep in mind that this was the era when emissions chocked power output to the point thateven the mighty Corvette only produced 205 horsepower and 290 pound-feet of torque.

The 1984 Grand Natty made the Corvette squirm in its fiberglass underpants with its 15.9-second 1/4-mile time, as that was only 0.8 seconds slower than GM’s favorite child could pull off. And the Natty still had some room to grow.

      1985:

In 1985, the Grand National carried over the 1984’s specifications, but the Vette saw a 25-horsepower bump. The Buick boys saw red and came back the following year.

      1986:

In 1986, Buick added in an air-to-air intercooler and tweaked the boost output to net the 3.8-liter V-6 an extra 35 horsepower and 30 pound-feet of torque, bettering the mighty Corvette’s base engine by 5 horsepower. With aluminum heads, the Corvette matched the Natty’s output.

The extra power pushed the Grand National to a new height, hitting 60 mph in 4.8 seconds and clearing a 1/4-mile in just 13.7 ticks of the second hand. That left the Corvette boys holding their jock straps at the starting line, as the Vette took 5.9 seconds to hit 60 mph and cleared the 1/4-mile in 14.2 seconds. Then the GM battle for power really took hold, but we now know who ended up on top…

      1987:

      Buick Grand National
In 1987, with Chevy breathing down Buick’s neck about its “precious,” Buick decided to shelf the Grand Natty the following year. But not before going out in a blaze of horsepower glory. Two Grand Nationals hit the streets in 1987, the base model and an outrageous GNX model.

The base Grand National hit 245 horsepower and 355 pound-feet of torque, and the GNX pumped out a mighty 276 horsepower and 360 pound-feet of torque. This netted the GNX a 0-to-60 time of 4.7 seconds and a 1/4-mile time of 13.5 seconds. The Base grand Natty cleared the quarter in 14.23 seconds. Both numbers simply embarrassed the 1987 Corvette, as if Buick sucker-punched “The American Sports Car” in the gut as it was shown the door.

That is a really cool photo, made cooler by how much the cars have in common. I remember the GN from back in my high school days.

It still amazes me how bad domestic cars were in the 80's. My first car, a Chevy Cavalier, could barely hit 80mph with it's fire-breathing 80hp 4cyl. I don't know how kids stay alive these days.

Today I went on the german Autobahn. I accelerated up to 254 kph digital tacho. I could have gone faster, but Im still on wintertires.
The car handled ok, but not as planted as I was hoping to be honest. I drove a bend with 240 and the car was quiet stable, but the steering felt too light for this kind of speed and when I braked hard from 230kph, the car felt very light on the rear axle.

We will see how this will turn out on the track.

Did 245 on summer tires same light rear and a bit seeking front axle behaviour under harder braking.

WOW, NEVER knew of an insurance rate plan based upon mileage.

Have 1,300 miles since delivery on 11/24/2014.
All car insurance here has rates based on how much you drive, and where. Has been that way forever. Small town pays less than big city. High mileage customers pay more than low mileage customers. Doesn't sound radical to me...?

That's exactly how it is over here in Switzerland, but a Insurance never asced me, after signing the contract, to confirm the mileage.

Assuming it is like here, they don't have to, because the mileage is also reported on government licence/permit renewal for your car, which they have access to.
