      What are these for?

      So, this may be a stupid question, but I've never owned a Volvo and none of my previous vehicles have had these circle opening things in the headliner... So, what are these for (circled in red in the pic)? Thanks in advance

      2018 Volvo XC60 Inscription — Replaced my 2016 XC90 First Edition

      2018 Cadillac Escalade ESV Platinum — Replaced my 2017 Audi Q7

      they are for the behind the second seat luggage compartment divider, commonly known in our family as the dog strainer. If you go look at the accessory catalog you will see a fixed metal grate that slides into these hooks at the top, and probably connect somehow to the back of the seats or the seat mounts. We had the exact same setup in our Saab 9-5 wagon. It's called the Steel cargo barrier for the XC90, here's a video you can see. http://www.volvocarsaccessories.com

      Yes, or a cargo net (the ends are metal and fit right in there).
