First timer. I agonize over every new thing because itís new. I had a really hard time accessing the damn panel because I couldnít get the valance off and didnít want to break it.
So... it was impossible to see or access the four screws well.

Where that pannel is still attached in the pic there is a little metal clip. Easiest to pull out when the pannel is closer to it's original position. Simply use a plastic spudger or give it a yank directly downward, comes out easy!

Bilstein B6ís all around with new mounts and sway bar links plus an IPD air filter. Went smoothly aside from having to use a cut-off to remove the right front link. Still have a cabin filter, radio and speakers in the parts box. Waiting for last nights snow to melt to tackle that.

      Wow, these engines do last...

220k miles, out-of-true on a badly cleaned surface:

      - front-to-rear: between 0.05 mm and 0.1 mm (0.002"-0.004"), max allowed is 0.5 mm
      - lateral: less than 0.05 mm, max allowed is 0.2 mm

      Not warped, won't machine.

Replaced speakers today. Went with MTX components (6 1/2Ē woofer plus tweeter) front and rear. I read somewhere about a ďno drillĒ install so I tried that. On one of the speakers I was able to loosen the glue enough to rotate the speaker out of its housing. On the other 3, the tabs broke as I was prying. I was able to disassemble the tweeter brackets as well and it just so happens the flangeless pods MTX includes slide into (with a little shaving of some little ribs) the factory mounts. Head unit is next on the agenda.

Took the v70 to get an oil change today, mechanic was not busy at all so I got him to diagnose the wubwubwubwubwuwb with some kind of stethoscope, confirmed it as the wheel bearing on driver's side. Seems the passenger one is good so that saves me about 150

Washed mine. Salt and bugs at the same time. Must be spring! Also washed the Titan and Mazda 6. The Titan can go back in the garage once I get all the Volvo parts back in it!

      That's sad. Laser is 'ronarized?
I've busted my ass this week working from home, but hey - I'm employed.
I'm goin' out for a drive tomorrow and spool it up. Then glove it to fill high test.

Just leave it out in the sun for a couple days; that'll take care of it. Or 9. That's what I did with the S70 after I got it through state inspection last week, and took a shower when I got home lol.

They tend to disintegrate after a few years. On my hub that went bad, the dust shield was completely cracked and the hub was all rusty. Now, the hub bearing is technically sealed. But, I think the rust degrades that seal.

Use a marine-grade grease between the bearing and the dust shield. I use this one: https://lucasoil.com/products/grease/marine-grease It does not wash out.
