Went out to start car...turned key, nothing except a "start prevented" message. Turned it over again, cranked and cranked with "start prevented" still displayed. Shut car off, tried again. Normal start.

BMW engineers could have learned something from volvo engineers. Underneath the spoiler on my e91 is absolutely the most disgusting part of the window. It's never clean.

Pictures never do them justice. In the sun they can almost appear chrome-like. In the shade, they look dark. Magical!

All the oil that had covered the top of the block, before the PCV was done, was breaking down the boots and just yucking up the whole area, so I cleaned everything up and replaced them with new Bosch units. I also looked at two other jobs which led me to two questions which I could use help with...

      Sunroof - two problems:
      1. When I operate the sunroof switch, only "Open (Slide back)" and "Vent (Open)" work. "Close (Slide forward)" and "Vent Close" do nothing.
      2. Vent Open will open the whole way up, but trying to Open the sunroof (slide back), it sounds like the gears skip teeth after the roof moves back a small amount and the roof won't go any further.

Should I replace both the controller and motor (pretty cheap on FleaBay for used)? Is there something else I should check?

      Fuel Filter:
      1. I had seen in the records that a Euro specialty shop had completed this job for the PO, so I didn't plan to do it again so soon, but I figured I'd take a look at the filter. What do I find? The connectors on each end of the filter are zip-tied from one end of the filter to the other to keep them together and to keep the connection made. WHAT IN THE ACTUAL FORK?! A shop did this work, not even a DIY job.

I'm presuming they broke the connector(s). Does someone have an easy way to replace these connectors?
Well, to add insult to injury... I just got the windshield replaced on the 07 XC70, but needed a few more yellow clips to get the trim back in place. Got those in the mail today, so used the XC for a Walmart curbside pickup. On the way home, I heard and felt a *twang* in the left rear. Watched in the rear view to see if I could see anything fall off or what I might have hit. Didn't really see anything and the car didn't make any other noises on the 5 more minutes of driving. Got home and checked wheel gaps in the rear. The driver's side was sitting 1/2" - 1" low. Got under it to investigate and found the left rear spring snapped at the bottom coil. So I guess it's time for a rear suspension refresh.

Anyone got a good DIY guide for replacing the shocks, springs, mounts, seats, etc? Also, I'm assembling a parts list in my FCP cart. So far I've got:

      x2 - Volvo Coil Spring - Lesjofors 4295844
x2 - Volvo Shock Absorber - Genuine Volvo 30760056 (Sachs is available, but the reviews online about Sachs seem poor)
      x2 - Volvo Spring Seat - Genuine Volvo 30748888
x1 - Volvo Shock Mount - Genuine Volvo 8250447 (Left)
x1 - Volvo Shock Mount - Genuine Volvo 8250448 (Right)

Do I need the shock mount washers or support plates?

I am about to redo the rear suspension on my 02 XC70. I am going with the Lesjofors as well and then KYB shocks. I will be so happy that the car wont be grinding with every little bump in the road.

Looks good. What coilovers are you running?

I would ask how it rides, but you are in NL and I know that's completely irrelevant to me LOL (having ridden in a 850 with Bilstein HDs last time I was there).

What did you do to your wagon today?

Stuck the rubber trim strip at the bottom of the tailgate opening between the top plastic part of the back bumper and the metal back on with some superglue - it had become unstuck and was flopping around back there for a couple months and never had the chance of fixing it.

Made 2 JY stops to get 2 05+ S60 headlights, a grille slash, and a set of silver accented steering wheel buttons. Car #1 in JY #1 was hit on the RF. So, no headlight. Car #2 in the same yard had the right light removed and sitting on the ground with the covers off. Had water and dirt in it. Grrrr. So, headed 70 miles west to JY #2 get a right headlight. Car had a good grille slash. So, came out with 2 items, at least.

Finished off the 150 mile day with 16 gallons of 93 octane.

16" Erinys and BFG KO2 225/70R16, maybe more, depending on the lift

If you figure out the lift with Nivo shock extension I'd be very interested in performing the same.

I havenít really looked. Wheels are not in the budget right now. Bought a house recently so the renovations are lightening my wallet quite a bit

Just hauled 50 fence boards 4x4x8 and 4x4x12 plus all the 2x4, didn't even squat!
