Overall I agree with their findings, it definitely feels more sticky, and no more torque steer!

I'm not sure if any P2 people have done this swap, but this would be a worth-wile upgrade for any 03-05 XC70, or 04-05 S60/V70R. I scored my DEM, solenoid, and pressure sensor for $18 at the pick and pull.
Good to know this works for P2s as well.

I've been running a V8 XC90 DEM now for 2.5yrs and it's been put to the test. I did not notice a huge difference, but that can also be because I'm running larger tires (stock XC90 size) so the increase in torque split is more balanced.

I was quite active in that thread, we picked apart a lot of great information on the DEM and AOC operations and the differences between the the two generation. If possible, I would like to test a full V8 XC90 AOC swap as the valves and accumulator are different, but the DEM alone functions well enough.

Should I ever need to rebuild or replace my rear diff, I will explore possibly doing the full AOC.

What did you do to your wagon today?

This is still so elusive to me. I check the yard every time and there are alway a plethora of DEMs but never the one Iím looking for.

However, scores front driver and rear axles (Volvo) for $80 cad. Little rusty on the surface but otherwise boots and all, in a great shape.

3 of 4 wheels prepped- holding off on the last one in case I need to match paint color. And picked up 4 new used tires in great shape (although not my first choice for a tire..) that should last at least through next spring.

Finally got it registered, only to find out that it wouldn’t start because my 6 month old battery exploded in the rear hatch area. Had to sand the tray down and repaint it all.

Bought one front stay for the rear suspension lift, cheap.

According to my school-grade geometry calculations these stays need elongation for a proper rear suspension lift, otherwise they will pull the tire to the front. This is the table:

      Lift Elongation (mm/rounded)
      1.0" - 0.94/1
      2.0" - 3.79/4
      2.5" - 5.9/6
      3.0" - 8.57/9
      3.5" - 11.7/12
      4.0" - 15.39/15

For the BadSwede-typical 2" rear lift the stock stay moves the tire about 4 mm or 5/32" to the front - that's a lot!

The plan is to dremel off the buns, drill/mill offset holes, weld buns back, reinforce the other side with a welded shim. I'm looking at 1.7", or 2.2", or 2.8" lift, with the neutral Nivomats leveling, a novel lift approach

Front suspension lift would probably come in a form of XC90 struts/springs, they are 1-2" higher and fit more wide tires as the spring perch is higher on those. I may add my existing 20 mm polyuretane spacers for the front/rear leveling.

That would push the ground clearance to the one my Tundra TRD Offroad has =) The approach/departure angles are still crap, but I have my 14GA stainless steel radiators cage, plus plan for the offroad bumpers fabrication.

Also please check Classifieds for the cheap P2 parts I found in garage

I wish I knew. The car has been sitting, waiting to get registered, so it’s not the charging system. Unless it can overcharge that bad in 6 drives. I think it was just a bad battery, considering how chewed up the bottom corner was.

Swapped the turbo control valve Back to IPD, from the Pieburg I put in a month ago on the T5M. Felt like the Pieburg gave better boost but the car would stumble almost stall with cold tip in.

Figured out how to use the CFE "classic" that came with my V70. I was hoping for more than convenience features but some of them are semi-useful. I like the approach lighting feature, for example.

I also painted all of my plastic trim, turned out great! Pics: https://forums.swedespeed.com/showth...s-2001-V70-T5M

You can do this in a P2. The cup holders are removable and washable - but not heated for you cold ravioli haters.

Ha! Not all for me, I'm using 4, 3 are going out to others. Mostly sauce, some salsa hot and mild, and other things. Makes home meals easy and the kids love pasta.

My stupid 2004 shifter cables broke, those things are f'in trash. I ordered the new style 2006+ cables and WOW imagine that, even though I ordered them next day the damn DC incorrectly marked them as on backorder... despite there being over 10 in stock Hopefully tomorrow, I'm having wagon withdrawal.

You can do this in a P2. The cup holders are removable and washable - but not heated for you cold ravioli haters.
I used to eat cold ravioli in my much younger years. But, haven't had to resort to canned ravioli in many years.

Less slack in the cables, and the linkages are of better design, they are clips instead of the ball/socket with bushings, which is what broke on mine
