Plan to own a XC70 for a long time. I got two quotas from dealers last week. One is for AWD 3.2L Platinum $39884.0, the other is AWD T6 Platinum $42371.0. I saw some shared prices by others in autopriceshare are lower than mine. However, I think both are fair prices in my small city with limited choices... I compared the options difference between these two models and read some reviews about 2015 XC70. However, I believe that the opinions from current XC70 owners are more valuable, Could any friends here give me some suggestions, AWD 3.2L Platinum or AWD T6 Platinum? (I am living in WA)
There are people who have the 3.2 that will say it has adequate performance. And for most situations it does. But having the T6 covers you both for those "most situations" plus the times when you will appreciate the extra power and response. All for next to no difference in real life fuel economy. The T6 has been around for 6 years or more now and is well sorted out (there have been problems with the early T6s). I'm confident that for a long term ownership its reliability will be as good as the 3.2. Get the T6.
T6 for all the reasons already stated. The difference in HP gets bigger the higher elevation you drive at too, and I assume in WA you might often be 6000+ ft up unless you hug the coast.
T6 and I am in WA as well. Had to get my CPO in PA though. Good luck finding one locally you love! Happy to help your search increase nationwide if needed.
T6 without question, it's a smooth powerful engine. After driving my T6 V60, my brother went right out and traded in a 2 yr. old Explorer on an new XC70 T6. He loves it.
Oh, I forgot to mention - I have both an S80 with 3.2, and an XC70 with the T6 (and Polestar). Even before the Polestar upgrade, there was no comparison between the 3.2 and T6. It actually makes a pretty heavy wagon feel quick.
Isn't the T6 Platinum price around 5K below invoice? Dealers in SE Michigan have quoted me invoice pricing. Am I missing something?
Thanks for any insight.
2015 models will be discounted a lot more than 2015.5 models. There are also owner loyalty bonuses, etc...
