After years of being a car enthusiast and owning everything from heavily modded 300ZXTT's, 600 HP 03 Cobras, Audis, etc.. but never owning a Volvo, I bought a V50 6 speed a couple weeks ago after giving up my search for a clean, local, unmolested, reasonably priced S60R. Welp, two days *after* I bought the V50, an S60R became available. 10 miles away.
Long story short, the moons aligned, I found a buyer for the V50 and now the S60R is mine.
This car was owned by Cary Wilson, (chief of electronics at Ford when he got the car). Massive car nut. He has a 64 1/2 mustang he got when he was 16 and it has something ridiculous like 13,000 original miles on it.
I can only imagine what the rest of his collection looks like, but I'd love to see it someday.
I bought the Volvo from his son and his dad's OCD car care ethic must have rubbed off on him, because not only does this car have borderline ridiculous maintenance records, but it's cosmetically near perfect, too.
And when I say near perfect, it's perfect. It's the kind of "near perfect" you get with a brand new car.
No dents, no dings. No fading. No stains or rips in the interior. New tires, brakes, etc... Just borderline insane levels of car care, and it's never slept a night outside. Very faint road rash on two of the wheels. I mean BARELY.
I've also been told this very car was on the podium at the 2005 Detroit Auto Show as Cary was with Ford during the Ford/Volvo merger.
So anyway, here she is and she's all mine. I'm holding onto this one for awhile =o)
