      Opportunity to upgrade?

In the UK, currently own a 2003 VR in flash green with gobi, geartronic with 92k miles, with navigation, phone. Car has full service history, unmodified. L have put back stock exhaust and OEM rear sensors.
Anyway, have the opportunity of buying 2005 VR in magic blue pearl with knordkap, 6 speed manual and 30k miles with 1 owner, full service history, sun roof, rear sensor, no navigation or phone, unmodified original, has won a few cups at national volvo events here in uk. Gonna need about £5,000 to change.

No pictures of the 05, but it has been pampered. So what do you think? The fact it's a manual will probably be reason enough.

I'd be tempted. The idea of getting into pretty much the same car as my own, and that its already 10 years old and I don't find the manual gear selection smooth enough means I'd eventually back out of it.

I'd buy it on the sole fact it's Magic Blue. MB is my favorite color a car could have. Get her professionally detailed when you buy her and the paint will look like this Volvo S60R Elevate Sport Kit 3 by Martini_277, on Flickr

Off for a viewing on Sunday. They have spent quite a time preparing her for my visit! Owner is sad to say goodbye (due to ill health), will post photo's of them together when I get back, lol.

Searching the forums there is quite a mixed reaction over R colour combinations. A garage I use say it has to be unique to the R, which magic blue is not, others don't like blue inside and out which this one is, it is all very personal I know, but I think from looking at images that the magic blue with Nordkap should work, graphite 18's should help.

Looking forward to trying a manual R, feeling the difference.

Anyway, if all goes to plan will have 2 VR's on the drive tomorrow night.

      Quick update:
looked at the car last weekend, too good to turn down, drove them both back, left the previous owner with a tear in his eye, was quite an emotional day for them both. Car needs some basic tlc and a good detailing as he is unable to maintain it as he used to:
Booked into the garage next week for a service and cambelt change, new set of Pzeros (current tyres are dry/cracking through lack of use), fit grom unit and a few other bits n pieces.
So the flash is cleaned and ready to go up for sale, wait for the right buyer to come along!

Must admit you notice the difference with a stick and 3 peddle arrangement. Also have to say that the colour combination is great, the nordkap suites the magic blue really well, at least that is my opinion as well as my neighbours

Couple of photos from the day.

Personally I'd go Conti DWS06 over Pzero.

Very nice, 30k miles, wow. Not too many low mile examples like that still out there.
