      Reset Adaptation values=ECU reset=battery disconnect=pulling fuses=clear codes in VIDA?

      All,
Apologies for the new topic, but I'd like to have some clarification here in terms of these methods below:
      1. Disconnecting the battery cables and touch the negative and positive cables for 3 mins
      2. Pulling the fuses 6 and 23 in the engine bay fuse box and start the car
      3. Clear all stored DTC codes in VIDA

All these 3 methods mentioned above, does exactly the same, means clear all stored DTCs, reset the ECU and reset the adaptation values?
      or
The first 2 completes all 3:
Erase stored DTCs, Reset the ECU and reset the stored Adaptation values (and the car start learning from the scratch)
      while
Clearing all stored DCTs via VIDA just removes the DTC and won't reset the adaptation values?

      Actually they do not.
The only correct way to ensure a full dump of the old adaptions is VIDA

Doing 1 or 2 will not reset codes in vida as stated above.

      Thanks!
Is there a specific menu/sub menu in VIDA to erase the old engine adaptations only, without re-doing the gearbox adaptation?

You're talking two different things here. Clearing stored DCT's is different than resetting transmission adaptations. What are you trying to accomplish?

Clearing DTC's is done in the diagnostic tab of VIDA, then Fault Trace sub-tab, then the Delivery tab near the bottom. Then click erase all. Then you'll update to re-scan for persistent faults.

I'm trying to remove all engine related adaptations what the car 'learned' (self adjustment values) during day to day usage only, without removing the transmission adaptation values as it will require to re-do the TCM relearn process.
I know how to clear stored DTC's in VIDA.

In terms of the original question, found several comments here at SS and other forums as well, that if you do this: removing the battery + and - terminals and connecting them together for about a 3mins, then it should reset the adaptation values.
