Is there a Virginia Chapter? I would have expected the Blue Ridge one to be for Central Virginia but that says Florida!

      Re: (Bunnymobile)

Not sure where you saw Blue Ridge (actually NC) listed for Florida.

Nevermind...I see there's a typo on the forum listing for Blue Ridge Chapter...that chapter is inactive and was based in North Carolina anyway.

On the club website's chapter listings at http://www.vcoa.org/theclub/chapters.php

      Re: (Logan2224)

First make contact with at least eleven (other) interested individuals in/near your area that would be willing to join the national VCOA Club and participate in the formation of the local chapter.

Ownership of a Volvo is not required to join the VCOA...

      http://www.vcoa.org/theclub/

Once you get these folks up return here and we will hook you up to Trish, Chapter Coordinator at the VCOA, for more info.

      Thanks,

I'd be interested if anyone in the Tulsa area wanted to get something going. I was previously in SVTOA (Ford) so I know how fun car clubs can be.

      Good show, Joseph.

Swedespeed has nearly fifty Oklahoma-based users and about ten of these are based in/near Tulsa...

      http://www.google.com/search?h...ctive

A new chapter of the Volvo Club of America in the Tulsa area would have little competion/overlap from other VCOA Chapters. Here in Texas we get Okies down for our Chapter Meets on a regular basis.

Here is the info on starting a new VCOA Chapter...

      http://www.vcoa.org/theclub/chapter-information/

Be sure to download/save the supporting documents/pdf linked in the upper right corner.

One note - informal get-togethers may be scheduled any time but VCOA-sanctioned Chapter Meets must be announced well in advance in ROLLING Magazine which has a publish deadline many weeks before it arrives in your snail mailbox.

      Good luck!

I know there is a Boston chapter but I would like to investigate the possibility and level of interest of creating a Granite State chapter (New Hampshire).
I will send an email to Tricia and see if that sounds like a worthwhile venture.
I know there are plenty of Volvo's running around NH and in fact, lots of older ones.

      Hi George

Thanks for the info. Looks like certainly enough to build a foundation for a good chapter.
After I hear from Tricia, I will move slowly and methodically in that direction with the hopes of putting together the 12, over the winter, we need to get a charter. And then perhaps hold a first meet in the spring.

      thanks again

How long does it usually take to hear from Trish?
I sent her 2 sets of emails a few days apart and so far no response.
I guess she is super busy.
Hope to hear from her soon.

Trish is an unpaid volunteer as are nearly all VCOA "employees".

Below are some optional email addresses for her.

You can download everything needed to start a VCOA chapter...

      http://www.vcoa.org/theclub/chapter-information/

Trish may provide an .xls file showing active VCOA members in and near your area of interest (by ZIP Code).

      Hi George

First let me say thanks again! I have downloaded all 3 docs and that will get me started for sure--much appreciated. And yes, it will be nice to get the list of VCOA members near me......that will be a major help.
And yes, I understand that Trish is a unpaid volunteer--no problem. Know it well. I have been a member of the Hudson, Essex, Terraplane Club for 22 years. I have been a past chapter President (Garden State Chapter when I lived in NJ). And I still maintain 3 Registries for the Hudson club. So I know what it is to be an unpaid volunteer and I understand sometimes it is a thankless job---lol.
I am sure Trish will assist me when she is able to....I can be very patient.

      all the best

Hello from Russia to everybody! I live in the north of Russia and we have oyr Volvo club!

      Let's get friendship?!

Russia the country with varying climates! In winter, cold, hot in summer, so the Scandinavian machines are very popular here! Especially in the northern regions, it is very nice to know that Volvo enthusiasts have in many countries!

      Welcome volvo Fil

Glad to hear from you and happy to know there is a Volvo club in Russia!

    32. #65
I will tell a little about a place where I live! Murmansk - the city behind polar circle, at us is replaced polar day by polar night! A lot of snow in the winter drops out, therefore are more appreciated Volvo XC70 and XC90, but also another it is a lot of models (from 240 to XC60). We wait for summer when dealers will expose on sale S60 new!
Our club is called VolvoClubMurmansk, it has united owners of various models in all region. The main things of the purpose of club is a rendering assistance both in car expluatation, and in usual everyday situations! We often meet, we discuss cars, we have together holidays, we go on picnics with families! The club in many respects helps by granting of various discounts at purchase of spare parts and service with services.
And what models are most popular in you? Whether expensively to contain the car? Tell about your club!

      "Добро пожаловать в Swedespeed"

As to your http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=F2iFmDYiATk yes, still it is literally couple of years back, roads to Murmansk area were simply awful! Now Russian on the Finnish technologies have made excellent roads! It is pleasant to go!
In Russia there is a saying: "In Russia there are two troubles - fools and roads! And one trouble constantly struggles with another!"
But it in the past, now our road services apply the European standards!
In comments to it I have read video: "at Russian likely a special suspension bracket!" - has made laugh! A suspension bracket same as at all!
