Not wild about the rear and rear 3/4 views. Definitely do not like the taillights, how chunky they are, and how much of that heft wraps around, or how the lower portion is bigger than the upper. The rear D Pillar also has tones of the Impala, also VW Phaeton.

Side and front are very handsome.

Get out of my head man. Those are pretty much my exact thoughts.

I think they did a good job with it. I as well am not a huge fan of the rear end. but considering this is a full size luxury sedan under their new hammer of thor design concept. Its masculine, and refined. bulky is also a good adjective. Either way, I cant wait, I lile it. yada yada I'll still be buying the Xc90 over this.

Love the application location of the rear VOLVO emblem, love the exterior door handles really love the (40/20/40 ) rear seat. The back end is going to take some time to get used to. Just seems a little off/out of proportion for some reason. Looking forward to pics of non Inscription interior and other available colors. All in all very well executed. Now lets see some cost information. Guessing starting in the low $50's?

Will have to wait for the new SPA S60 to see if they improve the rear end.

I'm not a fan of the sweep down from the rear doors, but I really like the rear view and taillights. I think they channel that "understated strength" characteristic of Volvo design. The retro aero blades on the interior vents are also pretty classy, especially with the wood trim.

Yeahhhhhhhh....... I can deal with the way the rear looks, but the front looks like the Buick to me. I though it would be a bit more edgier. I like the interior most of all.

good question- the xc90 starts under $50K so I would assume this would be lower if anything.

The back could be better... I hope the V90 back is updated to follow the XC90 or XC Concept... Interior looks beautiful. Chrome door trim looks a little tacky to me.

      We need two votes:
      1. which part of S90 you like best.
      2. which part you dislike most.

I really do like this design. And to see that the front headlamps are closer to the concepts than the XC90 - I am disappointed in how the XC90 have changed the lamps.
The rear end has grown on me just the last hours, I do like it quite alot. It does remind me of an Audi A7, but I've always liked that rear end too..

@comp1: The rear seats folds flat 40/20/40 btw.

If I'm allowed to name a few things...

Likes: The rear seats, interior door panels, air vents, head rests, front headlamp creases between the grill

Dislikes: The front air intakes, lack of panoramic sunroof, no brown leather interior

I don't like the way they included the memory seat buttons and lock/unlock within the speaker mesh. That looks out of place to me!

I guess you petrolheads enjoy that the S90 is available as a manual

...if that's also true for NA, naturally.

I think it looks great from almost every angle, especially the front. Don't think the back looks half bad either (I think we can all agree that it's unmistakably Volvo b/c of the new XC90 tail lights). Still trying to figure out what it resembles though... initially thought of A7, kind of also see the malibu in it, and the back kind of looks like a Jag XJ. Just goes to show how crowded and similar looking the luxury sedan segment is now!

Exterior: I like most everything except the plain side panels. I don't have a problem with the perception of heft from some rear angles, and overall it's an athletically svelte design. Favorite aspect(s) here are the front and rear-end caps which pay close homage to the concept coupe.

Interior: Also here I like most everything I see, but would prefer some more buttons for basic functions (as with the XC90). What I don't like are the use of the decade+ old door window switches. They should be a newer design with more upscale metallic accents/tips or all metallic like Mercedes. Dipping the old controls in black lacquer (piano black LOL) does not make them new and improved, or "simplistic design". Yep, I'm picky about these things on my $60K+ 2016+ vehicles. My favorite aspect(s) here would be a toss-up between the seats, vertical air vents or metallic speaker screens.

It should sell well though, as long as the quality and reliability is there....oh, and engine sound deadening.

No chance in the states. The T5 Drive-E will be the base engine here. After the C30 was dropped after 2013, no Volvo in the US is available with a manual.

Likes: The overall look isn't bad, from certain angles it reminds me of the A7 - which is a good thing. The interior is also nicely executed.

Dislikes: Not a big fan of the rear, just feels like it could be better. As said before, the lack of panoramic roof is a HUGE disappointment; it's almost 2016, if a sunroof is the best Volvo can do then it's sad. Also agree that the window switches would be better were they to have chrome or metal accents. The gas and brake pedal are should be updated so as to not look so cheap.

Stand by my comments when the models came out. The new design language works better as wagon or SUV. Back end is like a challenger that lost half its LED's. Not a fan of rear 3/4 or straight on rear view - tail lights alone would keep me away from it. Front and interior are nice though! Worse cars to look like than Audi from side.

One thing I noticed was they're not using monoblock calipers... I mean I'm sure the brakes are great but still... Once you drive a car with 4 pistons on every corner going back isn't something I'd do easily. Also I have noticed the black gear lever looks out of place in a gobi interior...

I like the rear end on the T5 over the T6/T8 "square" exhausts. T6/T8 got a "butt lift" and the T5 appears to sit a touch lower - which (IMO) looks better.

I really REALLY hope the SPA S60's rear end is nothing like the S90's...

Also, I feel like the S90's rear would look better if the license plate was on the trunk lid and not on the bumper.
