I've been curious about dipping the trim on our cars. How is it holding up?

The Forever Black looks like a good option, though.

      *sigh*

After some investigating, after we attempted (in vain) to plug he source hole with some epoxy for a temporary fix, pops and I concluded:

(at least until the Nissens radiator comes in which I just ordered along with some hose clamps, another temporary fix which will last me a couple of years until I can throw down on a Do88), so for now it's somewhat of a slow leak, yet still noticeable. Basically, keep checking the coolant, etc etc etc

Also nobody make fun of my filthy engine please

It's just a normal, upper-level residential unit. Nothing special. Drives the foam cannon, primarily. But I also use it to rinse the car initially.
I had a broken door window on my Volvo once. Why is it okay when that guy does it?

Lovely, used to have those wheels on my 240 in year 2000.
I would love to buy a vgc 850 turbo, like the original design more than s70/v70

Did you order the radiator from FCP? If so, don't bother with a do88. Big $ and they tend to crack

Oh yeah. FCPEuro's guarantee is, was, and continues to be a huge selling point for me when purchasing doodads but I figure if the Nissens radiator is decent value for being middle-of-the-road, why not?

Not sure, but within a year. I suspect I may have a crack i just cant find it but theres coolant residue on the passenger lower side of the radiator

Wow that really sucks. So basically we have no good radiator options for these cars?

Yeah, the wide array of tutorials available on YT are actually going to be relatively more useful to me than anything else in this case anyway. I do like having the manual on standby, though.

Which one of these would look good next to my parking sticker? I also have a NOAA decal I have yet to designate a decent spot for.

What you need to do is a barbecue so you can have Volvo friends over and shoot the sh*t and fix everything because everyone's a specialist at one annoying job or another

Is it safe to post again?

Yeah by all means I'd love to host a gathering at my place for whomever is willing to make the drive out here, I'm thinking I'll hopefully see some of you at SCD Boston in August at the very least.

Well, hopefully this weekend the weather will cooperate with my plans, I'm hoping to get everything handled by Sunday regarding the radiator. My transmission cooling lines look rusted to sh|t and I'm hoping I can get away with continuing to use them at least for a little while.

      Oh, an update on the legal stuff concerning the '02 for those who are interested in the proceedings drama;

Went to court this AM before work and attended the Payment Review/Supplementary Process, lo and behold, the woman and her husband were no-shows.
Though I had won a judgement against them in June and the payment schedule was determined on-site ($200.00 a month goes to me from 7/3 on), I, unsurprisingly, haven't received anything. I planned to discuss this in court today with the magistrate -- but if the defendants fail to appear, they're automatically found in contempt and a capias (warrant) is issued -- meaning, I receive the actual warrant request in the mail showing that they failed to appear, and have to drop it off to the constable, pay a fee, and have them arrested somehow and brought to court.
Problem? Since their eviction which took place a few months ago, they haven't actually updated their residential address and are trying to play the "we're homeless" game with the court, as an excuse to bail on appearances and payments. The wife has a new mailing address according to records, I have the Reg # on the plate of their new vehicle, but it's going to basically be a cat and mouse game to get these freaks to cough up. Total headache. If I could afford to turn the other cheek and be done with this entire thing, I would, but I have to pursue this. I'm going to need some sort of money to come in from these people if I want to maintain a vehicle. Horsesh|t.

You'll need new clips if you want to change the tranny fluid. Which you should do if you haven't yet.

And I reuse my clips. Mine look better than that, but those shouldn't be an issue either if it's just surface rust. Use snap ring pliers to take them on and off.

Did the new rad not come with new clips? Both of the rads I have purchased (Not Nissens) came with them in the box.

Those should be OK to reuse, however, as long as they don't get too mangled during the removal.

Thanks everyone for your continued support on this issue, I really appreciate the input from everyone.
I'm slated to begin work on this tomorrow and once again have some assistance from Dad, weather permitting, but first I'll double check tonight and make sure I have everything I need. I'm fairly certain I have the clips as well, I just get nervous when I see rust but I suppose every car in NE has rust on it one way or another...

Alright well, brief summary because we're just taking a break at this point and I still have to reattach a few hoses but I'm dead to the world atm since I'm doing this on about four hours rest ( I shouldn't have gone out last night )

      fans out hands out

      ...

I had a very lucky visit from a friend of mine (he must have had a feeling I was struggling) he originally came by to drop something off for my father but wound up staying an additional hour.

This is my friend John's V70 SE ~ If you see him anywhere, give him a handshake and tell him you know me, the extra manpower and direction sped up the process phenomenally. However, every time I see him, he scolds me -- He hates turbos and he especially hates the fact that I won't just go grab something NA.

(Lmao peep the wing, I promise that's next)

At this point, Dad and I were just having a royal bitch of a time getting it out ( lol, intercoolers ) so we had to incorporate an extra hand.

We got it out -- but upon getting the new radiator out and getting everything attached, I goofed and put everything on backwards, had to go back and figure out the right way, and voila:

IT'S IN. This sh|t is in.

Hard part's over, right? Right? Great father-daughter bonding experience, 10/10, would recommend.
