2015 Vs 2015.5+ V60 questions...looking at returning to Volvo.

Been awhile since I've been back on here! I currently have a 2011 9-3 Aero 'Combi and do really enjoy it...but I miss my old '01 V70 T5. And, ever since they came out, I've been loving the new V60s!

2015s, 2015.5s and some 2016 off leases are starting to pop up. I just want FWD, and I believe the new eDrive engines came out in the 2015.5s, correct? How are those holding up? The old T5s were just the same one Volvo had been using for some time, right? Are the eDrives running long and relatively issue free? Any common issues on the V60s to look for? Any other tid-bits that may be helpful? I did some looking through and I think that's the only real big difference from 2015-2017, right?

Also, from what I'm seeing, trim levels run Premier to Premier Plus to Platinum? Each level adding their own goodies? Just trying to get a good understanding of differences to make sure I target the right model year/trim. I'm not having luck finding a solid resource for that.

Updated in 2013 for 60 series with less internal friction and they added overboost for 10 seconds
and produce a bit more power. Otherwise, not too different.

http://www.roadandtrack.com/new-cars/first-drives/reviews/a18356/2013-volvo-s60-t5-awd/:

Among the tweaks to the T5 power plant is a boost in engine compression to 9.5:1 from 9.0, engine torque now peaks at 4200 rpm and engine management changes provide fast gear changes and upshifts when the 6-speed automatic gearbox is in the sport mode. Output remains the same over 2012 at 250 bhp and 266 lb ft of torque, although there is a provision for overboost from the turbo which bumps the torque number to 295 lb.-ft. The changes in compression ratio helps the S60 T5 deliver an extra mile of mpg in the city and combined cycle.

Check a couple threads down about the clicking/ticking issue. Seems to be the only widespread issue so far on the Drive-Es, but it's been enough to shake a few people's confidence. Others (including myself) are still hopeful that Volvo will come through with a fix despite their mixed response thus far. I personally love the engine otherwise though, especially with the latest Polestar optimization tune that you can't get on the former T5s (non-Drive-E).

I will say the FWD handles Well, I like the Drive-E on the 15.5s, and the Eco Drive will increase mileage, especially on the highway. It does rev down the RPMS to accomplish efficiency.

To that note, I will say that a DEDICATED winter tire will be a MANDATORY. I know AWD MAYget by on an all season, but your FWD will not. You're in the snow belt. I tried out my FWD this winter and the Michelin AS3+ which have a Good Review failed to instill confidence in winter driving. I had a lot of play. The AWD benefits from winter tire, I hear too.

So I'll be buying a set of wheels and tires for this winter. Probably the Nokian Hakkapeliitta R2. A video I saw on FWD vs AWD pretty much said FWD did very well with a winter tire. Not 100% AWD but about 80%. Good enough unless you live by a lot of steep mountains / hills that get icy.
