R Design but no R badge

I'm still looking for a pre-owned XC60. A couple of 2014-15s have come up as R-Design but have no R badge. In one case the dealer lists the car as an R, but nothing on the steering wheel, grill or tailgate to identify it. In two other cases they are listed as T6 AWD, but when I check the VIN, they come up as R Designs. What am I missing?

They don't have badges. You should be able to tell by the paint, bumpers, wheels, interior and rocker panel design

I have a 2015.5. There is no R-Design badge but there is the blue Polestar badge (2015 R-Design came with Polestar tune). Also, mine is Electric silver, different than the silver of non R-Designs. Also Passion Red color is unique to RD. I think the other colors (white or black) are the same for all XC60's. And of course, the seats are different & an easy giveaway if the car is an R-Design.

OK, thanks, no badges. But I have seen a small R badge on the grill of several. I know the seats and exterior styling are different, but two cars without them were listed as R-Design by the VIN decoder. I think this VIN decoder may be listing the Premium T6 AWD models as R.

My badge was missing when purchasing used and the dealer replaced free of charge. Said they have been falling off haha. So far so good

That seems odd to me.... There should be R-Design emblems on the front grill and at the bottom of the steering wheel. Also when you get into the vehicle and start the vehicle there is an animation and "theme" specific to r-designs.

The easiest way to determine if it is a R or not is the exterior. You will not find an R-design with a chrome front grill or chrome door mouldings.

I would find it very odd if the dealership removed the front emblem (it's easy to remove from the grill but the grill pretty much needs to be off the vehicle to do so).

The inset part of the grille badge used to fall off. The holder is screwed on and shouldn't come off unless removed from behind.

My 2015 RD has the badge on the grill and the steering wheel. As mentioned above, the speedo display also starts off with the R logo. In addition, i think 2014 and 2015 RD cars came with R-Design stitching on the front leather seats. It was later removed for the 2015.5 cars.

Sometimes dealers might list R-Design to get more attention to their ad but shoppers are then disappointed when they see it is an Inscription. The exterior might be deceiving but there is no mistaking the interior 2014+ have the perforated sport steering wheel, larger bolsters on the front driver's seats - black headliner is also another unique R-Design treatment for the 2014-2017 XC60 R-Design. In the U.S., you should see an interior that looks similar to this:

      2016 V60CC Platinum | Beechwood Brown interior swap | 20-inch Cratus wheels
2016 S60CC Platinum with lowered sport chassis | Polestar Performance Springs |
19-inch Polestar wheels | Elevate GT5 Exhaust, rear sway bar, brake lines, rear spoiler
