I noticed the different version number when launching the update application on Windows..but the version number looks older if anyone noticed the same.. usually it's 316xxxxx but this new one is 314xxxxx! it doesn't make sense version number going backword.
Did you try it out? I'm downloading it rn.

The map file set has a database information file (DBINFO.ME) that provides additional version information. The file I downloaded today lists the version as NC2500-00, released 17Q4, while the map set from September 2017 lists the version as NC2400-00, released 17Q2. Based on that, I'm at least confident enough to try out the version I downloaded today as being the latest and greatest available.

I'll wait for you beta testers to try it out before jumping on the wagon. There only thing is i don't ever use the map at all. I've played a cd exactly once in a road trip.

      Waze for me.

I haven't installed yet, I will install later this week as I'm out of town, the problem is that I live in a small town and nothing changes here on the map lol so I can't really tell if it was an upgrade or a downgrade.

Anyone updated yet? I have the USB ready to go but noticed today that the update website seems to be down.

We have two Volvo V60 Cross Countries. I installed this new update in one of them yesterday. It is 31421851 which does appear older than the 31676535 which was released in September 2017. I can' t tell the difference in the navigation after upgrading, but given the map version number being back at 314, I am skeptical. It would be good to get some clarity from Volvo. For now I am leaving the one car with version 31676535 an waiting to see with 31421851.

I looked into DBINFO.ME file as pljohnsn said earlier, and every entry from today's download looks newer. The only weird thing is the 314 PN which is going backward...I am gonna text my Volvo Tech buddy tomorrow and see what he has to say. My car is currently at the dealer for another software update to fix a glitch caused by previous RTTI update. Apparently, Volvo regional technical specialist will be onsite tomorrow so hopefully everything works out well.

Let us know. I haven't had the car running enough to finish the update. So no report back from me yet. Hopefully, this is an update and not a downgrade.

Got some updates from Volvo Field Rep and my dealer. No surprise they do not know why there is a discrepancy between the part number on the website and the part number within the download. They forwarded my concerns to Volvo customer care (guess this is the department that updated the map website), and they should get back to me soon hopefully.

Interestingly enough, the 2017 XC60 loaner I got had the 314xxxxx Map version in the car lol

Thanks for the update! When I leased my S60 at the end of January, it also had a 314___ version before I updated to 316...

I wish we get updates to the Interface and dashboard themes the same way we get for the maps that would be cool!

I updated my maps. The Arriving on Right or Left is still absent on mostly all locations.....Don't really notice any changes....Guess the Right or Left issue which my 20 year old Garmin can do is a lost cause.

Did anyone have any issues updating the maps with the USB thumb drive? I installed the Sensus Update app on my computer and downloaded the maps directly onto 32 GB, FAT32 formatted flash drive. When I plugin the drive into the USB port in my 2017 S60, it's not being detected, no matter what menu I'm in (including NAV). The thumb drive itself seems to be working fine. I reformatted it and redownloaded maps again, but still no luck.

You need a skinny thumb drive. I tried it with a normal one and it wouldn't recognize. As the plug wasn't flush into the center console. I use a 32GB Kingston formatted as FAT32 that site flush and is a skinny thumb drive.

I used a "normal" fat thumb drive, works just fine. In fact, I've probably used at least five different USB of all shapes and sizes. All work, as they should, since it is a specification. One data point doesn't mean anything.

I tried a fat one and couldn't get it to sit flush. I've never had a problem with a skinny thumb drive.....Anyway my advice for what it's worth.

I had this problem when I had the wrong version of the update on the flash drive, my S60 is a 2014 and I downloaded from the 2015 (or whenever it changed) site. Fixed when I put the correct version on the USB. Maybe what's happening?

Maybe it’s your area. I’ve never had a problem with left/right destinations. Not that hard to figure out though with odds and evens being on opposite sides of the street.

Here's a question which didn't raise it's ugly head with last update. When I reformatted my 32gb thumb drive to FAT32, there were choices for "allocation unit size" which I left at the previous setting... 16 kb and did a quick format. When I went to download the update, I got a "drive not empty" msg so I'm reformatting again using the slow method, which is taking 30 minutes and counting. Was there a different allocation unit size I should have selected?

There should be a choice for "Default allocation size" in the menu, that's what I always use.

I posted about this back in June when I happened to stumble upon in as a new owner. Maybe this could/should be the master map updates thread. Helpful hints from folks in the earlier thread about how to do the update.

Format USB as Fat 32. Download exe file. Select USB and load maps onto the USB. Place into the USB slot in vehicle. Maps self update. Advice valid for 15.5 onward.

Prior to 2015.5, cars need unlocked by dealer to allow for self map updates.
