      Thank you. Yeah, i know the ARD tune stuff was limited, but Lucky always treated me pretty well. I have a basic tune on one of my 850 Turbo's and it runs very nicely, good power, quiet and good mileage. My T5r is gonna have the Vast tune.

      Well I have his base tune and I'm very happy with it. Certainly is set up for what I wanted; a good balance between HP/MPG, as well as a bit more throttle response. And I think mine is a bit more tuned down than most. But here's the deal - I'm very old school when it comes to cars ( carbs & points etc ) and even more so when it comes to tech. To say that I'm computer illiterate would be a massive understatement, so when it came to doing datalogs and downloads, I was totally lost. In fact I had not even used a laptop before starting on this. So I buy a second hand laptop just to tune the car, and I don't even know the basics of how to use the damn thing. Aaron ends up remotely setting things up for me ( watching that was an experience for me as well ), and then schooling me on how to do it all myself for in the future. Believe me - that took patience.
      Now I've got my own little rocket ship that get 26mpg. Definitely thumbs up : )

      I emailed him from two email accounts and no reply.

      Just give it some time- he travels/ rock climbs frequently, and I know heís really busy right now with his shop and tuning... if it makes you feel any better heís building a $10k sleeved/ built motor for me right now and it sometimes takes days for me to hear back from.

      Maybe just shoot another email in a few days if you havenít heard from him.

      Howdy Saffron,

      Sounds like a nice motor, that going in your 850? I would not worry too much about it, but I am swapping out injectors and fuel pump next week, and I do not to drive with his base tune for very long, so I want to make sure he is around to get my file and send me the refined tune.

      On the topic of tunes, Aaron pretty much completed mine and it's running fine. But we did notice an issue I'm having and I'm not sure what could be causing it. Fixing this issue would allow me to revisit with Aaron and adjust the tune one last time for more power.

      From the logs, we noticed my MAF was reading low amounts of air. Like half what it should be for my hybrid k24. Someone suggested maybe a clogged cat but I don't believe my maximizer turbo back exhaust has a cat. I don't think it's my MAF either because I replaced the MAF element inside the 960 MAF housing. I don't think it's the turbo because that was just rebuilt and freshened up. Maybe timing, I don't know.

      Well it runs, I'll give it that lol. It looks like we may have had some mix ups between the tune and hardware so we gotta get that sorted out and try again.

      Interesting, yours is similar to my setup, mine is a 19T and a large MAF as well. I am using a basetune, which is fine, but the power curve is, 'lumpy', so it needs some refinement.
      It will romp up pretty fast, and I have no error codes.

      Iíve been through this with Aaron. A lumpy casual driving tune. I would be accelerating about 25 percent-40 percent throttle and it would register knock. He richened the tune through that area and still shows knock sometimes. But drive ability it feels like your accelerating and then hit a wall and itís nothing and you have to press the gas more and then it takes off but by then your probably in the wot map at 75 percent +. Thatís my only problem with the tune from him. He basically told me tuning wise thatís all he could do for me. And basically every sensor down to the knock sensors has been replaced to rule out anything else it could be. I canít put a stock tune on it because of my 800cc injectors to test tunes out either.

      I am running the larger fuel pump and injectors now as well, so I am beyond going back the stock R or ARD tune sitting in my garage.
      I do not have any knocks, or check engines, but this is not what you call a smooth map right now.

      I have not gotten a tune specific beyond the base tune for this setup and the large MAF, so I cannot say much more about it.
      I assume the next refined tune will be better. In theory this is a much more specific tune than like a "canned" ARD tune, but I have not gotten to that point yet.

      Aaron sent me a revision that fixed some of the hardware mix ups which let it run well enough for me to continue troubleshooting. Something's up with the intake VVT...dunno if if a hardware or software problem yet but either way, with that unplugged, it ran quite nicely in my 25mph top speed maiden voyage around the block.

      edit ...turns out the VVT is not supposed to be enabled until after we get off the base tune.
