      Audio and Equalizer Settings (B&W)

I created a new thread (without the poll) to encourage all of us to enter and share your audio and equalizer settings for your new SPA vehicle.

Just click on the Data Entry Form, enter your user name (and Car Model and version, all optional), then enter the prompted data. The objective is to have a centralized location where this data can be stored and retrieved. After entering your data, you should be able to see an updated graph.

Note: If this works, thanks goes to PhillipU for his technical prowess. If it doesn't work, blame me as I am a novice at this. Once I figure this out, I will replace the links with an interactive image that should update after users have entered and saved their data. If you were one of the original participants, I can delete your original data in case you which to enter and maintain your own data.

Thanks! I have updated the links. I learned that copy/paste must be done in edit mode to copy the entire link.

Sorry about that. I added the Data Entry Form and renamed the Data Summary Form. Give it a try now.

Got it, thanks, data added. I just did a reset about two weeks ago, put it on Dynamic and left it there. One of these days Iíll get in there and muddle around with it.

On a different note (heh), I did the test tones. I could feel 20hz, hear 30hz, the lowest that I thought was clean was 60hz. At the top, the highest I could hear without turning up the volume was 11k. 12k required about 3/4 max volume to barely hear. 14 I could just about hear with the volume slider maxed out. Not bad for 63 years old.

Filling out the dots threw me off for a second because it doesn't default to showing 0.0 in the center. Corrected it and fixed my data. This is pretty cool! I wonder if Volvo is recording this from our cars also.

Well this sure is a dead thread. I've been somewhat displeased with the way my S90 sounds vs my wife's 2016 XC90. The soundstage is a bit narrower which I can't do anything about, but the FR sounds a bit different too. I got curious today and bought an iOS app that plays pink noise and measures frequency response, helping guide adjustments to your liking. I measured my home theater system on several settings and saw the app seemed quite accurate even though it's all happening on my iPhone. Hopped in the XC90 and took measurements at 80 dB to get a sense of where the differences were between the XC90 and S90.

These are my adjustments and corresponding FR graph at 80 dB. Notice that 1 kHz had to be turned all the way down on the EQ, and it's still a bit high. This is tuned for more bass and brighter treble, but trying to keep most of the graph as flat as possible. The bass isn't as extreme as the graph would leave you to believe. May be the result of testing inside a small, enclosed space. The XC90 EQ is turned off. Bass and treble barely touched, subwoofer near 50%. S90 took a lot more tinkering to get near the same sound. XC90 is set to Studio-Driver (all makes nearly no difference, just adjusts sound stage slightly). S90 set to Studio-All (everything else sounds pretty terrible to me, altering FR and sound stage dramatically... in a bad way).

If you can post it, what was the app?

Has anyone added any aftermarket audio pieces to the B&W system? I was thinking about adding a sub with amp as the bass is not great in current set up.

How much more Bass do you want? The subwoofer setting and the bass working together can provide more than adequate bass with the B&W system. Is it going to win any IASCA meets? Of course not, but it's supposed to be clarity and balance, not bass laden, unless you want it to be.

I guess Iím looking for cleaner bass, current set up canít handle all the various bass notes, which decreases clarity and a clean sound.
