      Thanks Fusion!

I did a further search and SoCal has a dealer that has a special page dedicated to the upgrade and "....Polestar Tuned XC60 that we have available for test drives! "

The Polestar site actually only lists up to MY 2017!

      UPDATE:

Well, wading through murky water, still trying to get quotes for the Polestar Optimization software update - motivated by a recent post, just above mine that they reduced the price.

In my area, I contacted 3 Volvo dealers on the phone. All 3 could not find the upgrade listed for my vehicle (2018 XC60 T6). One finally called back and gave me quote of $1200 + labor.

The aforementioned Part Number “Op. No.: 36012-2“ is an umbrella PN not specific to any vehicle and applies across models and model years.

I have an appointment for some other service items and plan to get the upgrade then. I just hope they actually can find the software!

      Question

I've been eyeing an XC60 Inscription; esp if I can get the sport steering wheel and paddle shifters as I've been seeing on the Build Your Own page. What is everyone's opinion on RaceChip?

If winning isn't everything, then why keep score?

I used the RS model on the Alfa 159 1.9 JTD and on the Q5 2.0 TFSI S-tronic and was very pleased, although APR is a better company for the VW group, especially for gasoline engines

Search the forum, it's been gone over, and it should be avoided.

I love comments like this, without any background or experience: it should be avoided

Indeed, are you writing this from your own experience or have you heard about it somewhere

I used APR or RaceChip or Apec-chiptuning on all my cars (Audi, BMW, Alfa) and was very pleased

We have the Sports Steering Wheel Pkg on our 2019 XC60 T6 Inscription and there aren't any paddle shifters like the R-Desing/Polestar Sport Steering Wheels. Still a nice upgrade regardless over the standard wheel.

Edit: I just noticed that they mention the Sports Wheel having Paddle Shifters, but the information may be incorrect; here is a 2020 XC60 with Sports Wheel and no paddle shifters.

I think that the paddle shifters are not necessary for the polestar upgrade. Tbh I have not seen many xc60 without them in the lot (even the momentum cars) since they seem to be thrown in as an almost free option over here....if I recall correctly i think it was a couple hundred $, but the dealers push the cars with them. I have them, and they feel like a nice and quality item ( not as nice as the Stelvio ones), but the reality is that even if you push the car hard, Volvo is not the type of vehicle in which the driving experience would benefit from using them.
