      R for the Wife

My first post on the site is to tell you all about my first Volvo purchase. Really excited about it. My wife’s lease was ending on her Fiat 500X. So we were in the market for a no car payment car. She had a few stipulations she preferred, something cool and a manual transmission. After looking at a slew of Automatic E39 Wagons (could not find a manual worth looking at) and not liking them too much, we liked the V70R but again couldn’t find a manual then one popped up on Craigslist as we were leaving the viewing of an E39. I drove to Watsonville the next morning and purchased the 6 speed 2005 V70R and we love it. I’m really impressed with the car. It has issues and has 199K and if you can believe it the original clutch. The AWD is broken I now have discovered probably the collar or Angle Gear but I’ll fix that up, we love the car so far. Will probably be offering a trade of the lowering springs for some stock ones at some point, Little to harsh for her daily, but she’s driven it to work the last week and loves the car. Looking forward to getting to know some of you as we embark on the Volvo journey.

Yah she loves the analog manual transmissions. We do a lot of spirited Rally's and Drives together, so the manual is the way to go. Thanks everyone.

Nice caR with tinting. Before you run down that anti-skid warning, try replacing the battery if it's > three years old. It's much cheaper than AS or brake pressure sensors.

Thanks but I'm pretty sure is a mechanical failure, no driveshaft spinning from the front to the rear.

Oh wow I'll look into that, the front bumper has been ripped off a few times it looks like so I wouldn't be surprised.

Looks good. See if you can get used to the springs before undertaking a swap. I found the stock springs to be overly soft and weak. I found going to 18" wheels to have a greater negative effect on ride than the springs did.
