The rear hatch is fiberglass so I'm not sure if this would help with sound and vibrations but anyways I put some Noico 80mil deadener on the hatch. Then on the panel cover I put down some soundskins deadener. When knocking on the hatch from the outside it does sound more solid whick leads me to believe it well help with road noise and vibration.
Also pulled the last pair of wires to the front passenger door. Boy was it awful. Took a lot longer than the drivers side lol.
I layed some soundskins deadener on the door as well, both inner and outer. The rear doors I will be using dynaliner because I wanted to try it out. Think I only got the 1/8" thickness, prob should've got thicker but whatever. IMG_20200502_161821.jpgIMG_20200502_164528.jpg

With regards to the battery, how come you went with the shorter length one?
Was it cost or what you had. Or because you need the space for other components.
The diesel cars have a battery that is 353mm about 13.9”. Euro type 019.
With a bit of modification to the battery tray it is possible to fit the next size up Euro 020 that is 393mm about 15.5” and will give more capacity.
      Saffron V70R 1998 Auto FWD,
Silver 2006 V70 D5 manual FWD, fixing slowly.
Silver S60 D5 manual , need a petrol one. Good parts for the V70 D5.

Both batteries I already had from a previous vehicle.
There is a xs power D3400 in the OEM location, it happened to fit perfectly. The second battery mounted on the board is a xs power d5100R.

All finished up with the audio. Sounds awesome, now I need to work on a new enclosure for my sundown X15 and swap places with the 8s.
Got my cv boot clamp in the mail along with Lisle 30600 pliers, hopefully it goes smooth. Never reclamped one of them before. Haven't even driven the car since I noticed some grease splatter. There really wasn't much on the fender. However I did get the grease (fcp: VAG-G052186A3) and a large syringe with a long tube needle to squeeze some in.

I purchased it from FCP, it came with a new boot and other clamps for the boot. I couldn't find just the clamp so I ordered this GKN-303420 which is 10$

The other day I noticed a stumble at idle when moving my car. No cel. Today, drove it 10 miles fine. Started it up (warm start) rpms went straight to idle (strange), 10 mins or so into driving, cel came on. Vida shows ECM-1210. Guess tomorrow I will look for an air leak. Man I can't stand how much I hate the IPD fresh air pipe, taking that off and getting it on, I can never get it to sit perfectly flush on the turbo, also the throttle body pipe (this one caused similar issue a while back cause it wasnt seated properly).

Removing the fan is easy and makes seating the throttle pipe a million times easier. Position the clamp so that the worm screw faces forward on the left side of the throttle body.

The intake pipe sucks. Removing the upper engine mount and crossbar makes it easier.

Isn't a warm start straight to idle the correct sequence? Wouldn't it go to high idle for a cold (or less than whatever the limit is) start?

Not sure. I just thought it was odd. I mean the car was sitting for about 2 hrs before starting.

It's happened to me a few times. Strange as it is I couldn't find a reason for it. Your MAF high code can be a boost leak. Check that all your couplers are seated and tight.

Yea the throttle body pipe was deff not secure lol. I removed the fan and it was a lot easier to get it on. Seemed to pull a lot better too lol. Also forgot to remove the dipstick and broke the head off with the rest of it plugged into the oil tube. Ordered a replacement and o ring for the bottom of the dipstick tube. Noticed my upper radiator hose where it connects to the radiator seemed to be leaking a little and had coolant crust around it. So I ordered a new hose and clamps.

Here's some not so car stuff I did over the past week. Made a cooler stand for 48qt igloo cooler (I think), stand also has a working water spigot to drain the cooler. The stand is on casters and made from treated wood that is stained and sealed.

      Thanks guys.
Took the car to Rolling Motors to have my Xc90 axles and t belt, water pump and cam seals done. I had new parts ready for is tall as well: upper and lower coolant hoses (OEM), new expansion tank and ipd silicone expansion tank hoses (black).

Well the coolant leak I thought was from the upper rad hose was a crack in the radiator... Took the radiator down to find the condensor in poor shape too. Luckily they had both items in stock, oem radiator and a nissens condensor in stock. Ben asked hey you want a do88 too? I said mine as well do it now then lol. I'm such a sucker but hey, front the money now and I can stop procrastinating about doing it
      .
Driving back roads back home going about 45mph, I decided to pass a car and hammer it. Oh man, the car pulled very strong through the whole rpm band. Big difference over stock! I was very surprised.
We didn't get to the axles lol, ran out of time. Be back soon

Picked this R cluster cover up from a wrecked S60 at RM yesterday, fixed up the faded stitching. This blue sharpie did its magic!

Why not TD05? Just out of curiosity?

      I know where there’s a few 4T4 R heads I can inquire about

@ScottishBrick td05 is the 18t? Not too familiar with that one. I briefly talked with Ben and told him my goal is 300whp, if I can squeeze more thats icing on the cake. I did bring up a 18T cause I remember you talking about it and he said youd probably be pushing the 18t's limits while the K24/26 wouldnt have a problem. But I'm open to suggestions cause I have not purchased anything and probably won't be till sometime in July.

18t is a 99 R turbo and a TD04. TD05 20G or the like is larger than a k24. Good hybrid k24 would do 300 awhp. Especially with the ported head. If it was mine i would do the head and then just a larger wheel on the K24. Youll also want to do a trans cooler.

      20G VS K24

      20G

      Compressor-
      Inducer: 52.5mm
      Exducer: 68mm

      Turbine-
      Inducer: 55.8mm
      Exducer: 49.2mm

      K24

      Compressor-
      Inducer: 45.7mm
      Exducer: 62mm

      Turbine-
      Inducer: 59mm
      Exducer: 49.5mm

Hot side is effectively the same size turbine but limited by the stock volvo housing, which isnt an issue for the TD05. Cold side the 20G is larger. Its a good fit for a 5 cylinder.
