      Trickle charger recommendations?

I just recently put my car away in heated storage for the winter and I'm not going to be driving it for a while, looking for trickle charger recommendations. Amazon links are super helpful and anything ex. specifics to trickling charging an R I need to know before hooking it up would be great too.

Battery Tender brand is the go to for motorcycles.

I have one on my R almost all of the time.

I use the under hood posts.

I use CTEK chargers. They won't overcharge the battery and switch to a maintenance mode once the battery is fully charged.

I would recommend a CTEK (56-864) MUS4.3 12 Volt Fully Automatic 8 Step Battery Charger.
It will do many different type batteries and like glm409 said it will switch to maintenance mode. Also it will do AGM batteries which newer cars have go to.

Heh. Me too. I have the battery disconnected from the car, and the tender on the battery itself.

Sounds like the posts under the hood are probably the right spot, though. I'll be changing tonight.

Agree, i use the cetek on my R in the uk. (Only do about 2k miles a year in it, so trickle charger is essential) Bought the 12volt adaptor as well, simply plug this into the 12volt located in the boot (trunk) and send the charge down to ths battery, no need to access the battery whatsoever! Checks the battery and conditions as it goes, recommended.

Deltran Battery Tender or CTEK for me. I have a pair of CTEKs in the garage for the cars stored in there. I'm using a cheap battery tender I bought at Advance Auto for my electric start generator.

CTEK for me as well. Must have in the winter when I don't drive my mini enough to keep it charged.
