JLR is in deep ****, they should be burning shed loads of money with multiple platforms and numerous models, and also multiple engine families. Volvo has been posting moderate profit since several years now, their sustainability plan is in a different league than JLR; if they cannot find a buyer or merge with another company they could face annihilation. Volvo has also begun creating economies of scale with Lynk & Co and Geely recently, it is bound to bring costs down as production of such models increase. Finally it is very critical to have production facilities in China, US & Europe in this uncertain economic climate to flex among those factories as tariffs shift.
