My door guards have been fitted today, excellent remedy but should have been there from the factory.

\nBTW, don\'t know how its in US, but here in Russia, people saying that there is brand new TJ released. (don\'t know exact number...)
\r\nAnd now this part can be installed - under warranty, for free. :-) So ask your dealer, TJ should be global I guess.
    \r\n
\r\nI bought that part just before knowing that.... so will save money for Volvo by installing it by myself \r\n

\nAs I understood its not a service bulletin, but if dealer receives request from customer that sand or dust comes inside through rear door seals, they have some communication from volvo to apply that guards. Worth asking the dealer.\r\n

\r\n coach, what was involved in installing these? There are already some partial thin plastic strips on the wheel wells. Does it interfere with those?\r\n

\r\n Exact as Putertech says... in each wheel well there are 3 ďnutsĒ that can be loosened by hand (see pic). I took all 3 off and installed the part. The holes in the parts line up perfectly with the bolts.
    \n
\nThere were no clearance issues what so ever. The part seems well designed and fits the space perfectly.
    \n
\nI reinstalled the 3 nuts and hand tightened.
    \n
\nNear the bottom of the wheel well there are 2 Torx screws. I removed the nearest one and reinstalled it thru the attachment point in the part (see pic). Repeat on opposite wheel well.
    \n
\nJob done. Looks like it will solve the problem.

\r\n Has anyone found a place that ships these (the official Volvo ones) to Canada? Would love to have these installed before the snow and slush hits.\r\n

\nI believe I already mentioned above in a previous post that you can purchase these locally in Toronto from any local Volvo dealer. I just ordered a set yesterday from Mississauga volvo for $37 CAD - they will be here on Tuesday. Normally takes 2 days but Monday is a holiday.
    \r\n
    \r\nHope this helps...\r\n

\r\n The dealers prices for these are much higher but they have them now. Why they aren\'t standard on builds yet is a shame..\r\n

\r\n Rear doors gather way too much snow/dirt, design flaw?\r\n

\r\n My Volvo guards arrived today and I thought I would post some pics. These are made of a soft nylon as opposed to the Chinese ones which are a hard plastic. The Volvo ones are bigger and have a different shape and are very flexible. Finally the do fit the curvature of the rear door much better than the Chinese ones. There is no gap at the bottom - it has a very consistent gap from top to bottom.
    \r\n
\r\nNow that I have a spare set - if anyone is interested in them you can have them for cheap - send me a pm.

\r\nDo you happen to have a link to the part at the Volvo dealership in Canada? I\'m located in Ottawa, but could order from Missisauga. I have the chinese ones installed, but the genuine volvo ones look better. Thanks.\r\n

\r\n I\'m wondering if this part will fit the 20 Polestar with it\'s wider wheel well trim. Looking at it it doesn\'t seem like it will fit right.\r\n

\nIt doesn\'t matter which model it is: 18" - 22" with or without a wider wheel trim. This is located on the inside of the rear fender

\r\n This worked, stumbled on this forum when I was doing research on the issue. Indeed a design flow, interesting that Volvo had the screws in place for the mudguard. They should have added as standard, its just @6 or so, why not Volvo?

\r\n I put these on, so thankful to people who found them, it was a real problem last winter. Agree that they are effectively unnoticeable even on our white xc60. Fingers crossed that they do the job when the weather gets rough here.\r\n

\r\n Got these parts from Dealer for around $45 including tax. Installation on both sides took 15 mins total. Only had to use torx key on two of 8 fasteners. The other six fasteners used finger tightened plastic nuts. Gap is as shown in earlier pictures, around 1/8 to 3/16Ē. Letís see how they work this winter with slushy roads here in central Pennsylvania.\r\n

\r\n installed it month ago, looks like less dust. it\'s good.
    \r\nBut, another issue...
\r\nfound some sand/dust on both sides of rear seats, just between seat and doors...
\r\nso next task is to find how it happens...
\r\nseems volvo needs new seals for rear doors.

\r\n A little late to the party, here, but looking at the original pictures in post #1, my first thought is that there\'s no aerodynamic cause for the stuff wrapping around the door edge. Notice that it\'s adequately dammed by the weatherstrip. I would first look to the door adjustment, as in there may be a low-pressure air flow drawing the road muck around the edge. Odd, too, that there\'s a clean area where companion areas are in maybe too close proximity. Is the starboard aft door the same?\r\n

\r\n Just installed the volvo fender liner flaps today. Picked them up from a dealer here in NY for $49. They wanted to charge me $57 but talked them down a few bucks.
\nAs previously mentioned, install was a breeze. The only issue I have is that my passenger side fitment is spot on however the driver side is not as imprecise. I tried messing with it but the gap isnt consistent.
\nAnyone else with volvo part had the same issue ?
\nI am going to add additional weather stripping to the inside of the door jam still to see if it will prevent the sand accumulation inside like others have. Hopefully will solve the issue.\r\n

\r\n The day in November that I picked my 2020 XC60 Inscription (Osmium Grey) up from the dealer it was raining. I got home and noticed the dirt in the rear doors that is discussed in this thread. Very disappointed! I had the dealer order the part. They couldnít find it in accessories, but they were able to find it using the part # posted in this thread. I had them installed and just drove in the snow yesterday for the first time since they were installed. Worked perfectly! Thanks to all for your role in alerting me to this problem and the fix!
    \n
\nI was preoccupied with other priorities at the time of ordering and installation and didnít have the energy to take the issue up the dealer chain from the salesperson, parts and service departments to get the dealer to pay. None of them had heard complaints from other customers or knew about the part.

\r\n Just installed the mud guards on my new 2019 XC 60 today. Thanks to this thread for the fix. If the plastic rubs on the bottom of the door then just loosen up the Torx bottom screw and slide the plastic in and tighten back down. That way it pulls the edge away from the bottom door edge. The door closing now clears the plastic.\r\n

\r\n only a redesign will fix this problem. new seals will help to keep the dirt from entering but will do nothing about the disgusting dirt accumulation on the inside of the doors. had I been aware of this issue I would never have bought this car. We have lived with it for 2 years now but have decided to trade in for something else. I just dont want to look at this for another 6 - 8 years.\r\n

\nI think that\'s impossible. There is simply no TSB or anything like that
\r\nOnly perhaps a local dealer can do so as an act of goodwill
\r\nVolvo was supposed to do this to all XC60 owners because itís a design flaw, but obviously they donít want to admit it. I don\'t think it costs them more than 5-6 EUR\r\n

    \r\n
\nI did. But wasn\'t under warranty. I just brought the issue with the dealership as soon as I received delivery of my 2020.
\r\nThey told me that they were not aware of such issue, at least in Cyprus, but should I do notice this, they will handle it.
\r\nIn Cy we don\'t really have rainy seasons, however after a couple of car washes, the flaw was obvious.
\r\nSo I got the part for free. Of course YMMV.\r\n

\r\n I just had them installed last week....cost me $40 for the parts and $50 for labour...dealer refused to absorb the cost. Initially wanted to charge me for 1 hour labour and I refused...told him it wouldn\'t taken more than 10 min. max.\r\n

I believe I already mentioned above in a previous post that you can purchase these locally in Toronto from any local Volvo dealer. I just ordered a set yesterday from Mississauga volvo for $37 CAD - they will be here on Tuesday. Normally takes 2 days but Monday is a holiday.

      Hope this helps...
