      Picture request - child seat

Hey everyone, long time listener first time caller. My wife and I are looking at buying a Volvo v50. We want to be sure that it will fit a rear facing car seat ( or two) with no issue. Can anyone on the forum post a pic and give me your thoughts on how well its worked out?

      Thanks

I don't recall installing our child seat rear facing but I know it has the metal loop mounting points in the cushions. I think our daughter was a year or two old when we got our 50. Just passing on our experience here: while we love the car now, they aren't exactly large cars. If we were doing it over, at least for hauling a kid (or kids) around, family road trips, etc., I think we'd be looking at roomier cars like a V70, XC60 or XC90. That said, we've driven it round trip from the Bay Area to Colorado several times and we survived. Let's call it "cozy"!

So I have a 2012 wrx right now as well. I'm guessing that kind of "comfy"? Kinda why I'm looking for pictures. I'm 6'1 ish and my wife is 5'9.

You guys are tall. You might be tight in back for rear facing kid seat. Also, rear seats are narrow. Our child seats never fit well between the seat belt buckles. We always had to set them kinda **** eyed to get them in.

Maybe look at a V70? I have my daughter in a front facing seat in my V50 and it's tight. I'm sure two rear facing seats would fit, but it will be really tight on the front driver and passenger. Maybe find a local V50 owner and try. If you're in SoCal I'm happy to meet.

I have a two year old girl who has been in my V50 since birth. We put the rear-facing seat in there with a base, and now she's into a "converter" child seat which is bigger and seats her forward. The rear-facing seat fit fine in there on the passenger side with enough room for the front seat to be in a comfortable setting for an average person. Someone 6' or more would've been a bit cramped, but it was fine for everyone who ever got in my passenger seat. Sorry I don't have any photos though.

i'm only 5'6" and my son is in a booster and my daughter is in a larger sized booster and it's tight back there for them. now i only have the S40, so not sure how that really compares to a V50.

Doable, but it’ll be tight. I’m 5’11” and in our XC70, I couldn’t sit comfortably in the passenger seat with a rear facing behind it. The V50 is a bit smaller. I also sit in most cars with the seat base all the way back, so depends on how you drive.

I had a car seat in a mk2 Jetta... Depends on the size of the seat...!

I had 2 rear facing and 1 forward facing, recently changed to 2 forward and 1 rear. In my S40.

I'm 6'1. with the rearfacing behind me it was absolutely doable.
Fitting just 2 in there will be a piece of cake.

      You know my wife?

Nah...was considering the BMW diesel wagon, Challenger (if I can find a V8 AWD model), Charger GT or better AWD, unless I can find me a diesel mercedes with a start of the black death for cheap. No payment is the cheapest payment. 20-25mpg highway doing 85mph. Till then, getting a minivan and commuting 120mi/day aint worth it.
