\r\n Restoration is always good. But, if you need some of the other bling, most of it is still available.

    \r\n
\r\nBased on what the badges on my 142E looked like when it still had badges I am thinking that the brushed surface is more true to the original than the very shiny badge from CVI.
    \r\n
\r\nThe exception on availability is the badges for the E versions, perhaps because they are North American. If you are OK with the GL badges (European equivalent) for an E then they are available.\r\n

\nI came across this reproduction back in January, the shipping charges made it too costly. It may take time but I\'ll replace all of them.\r\n

\r\n You can get them from VP Autoparts in South Carolina. Shipping is reasonable and they are really good to deal with.
    \r\nThey aren\'t cheap though.

      B20 grill badge refurbishment

My car is missing most of its Volvo bling, the passenger fender has the one remaining.

So I've been on the lookout for replacements. Here is the grill badge for the B20 engine.

      Fresh from redwood chair.

      first_cleaning.jpg

      Cleaning off the old paint.

      flatplate sanding.jpg

Sanding to a flat surface, 160 wet sand seemed a good match to the original brushed finish.

      second cleaning.jpg

More paint removal. Next step, etching primer and lightly spray the edges with red.

      black soft enamel filled in.jpg

Black area filled in with soft enamel and hypo.

      partway there.jpg

      One hour at 150℉

A quick sanding to see where I'm at. Next will be the '20' with red enamel and hypo. (dunno why the forum software has rotated this image??)
