I have 2 days left on my Vida subscriptions, anything else I should try to do while I'm active?

I managed to program two keys I bought off Amazon, and delete the alarm using my knockoff Dice and VIDA web.

Since I still have time to work with my 3 day subscription, I was wondering if there are any suggestions on things I can do while my subscription is still active.

I also have a working version of 2014D, so I'm mainly looking for things I need the Web subscription to do.

      Thanks!

Oh, you're able to program keys from the non-genuine version of the VIDA? I have 6 keys apparently programmed so I want to remove all but two.

I also want to buy a new spare key from Amazon. Do you mind PM'ing me any additional information on what Vida hardware to get and key and how to program? Don't want to hijack your thread haha.

      Thank you!

Sorry for the confusion, it is a non-genuine DICE unit, not the software. VIDA is the software and as far as I have been able to figure out you need to get a legit subscription to the VIDA software.

Thanks for the suggestion. I tried to get that, but it is page by page basically. I think I can get that via the 2014D anyway if I'm not mistaken.

The older VIDA WDs are on a separate DVD and not all the sellers include them. But the ones that do, do.

Definitely do any upgrades it suggests. Would you be willing to share your subscription if one paid you for their usage? looking to upgrade a few things haha

lol... I would consider it, but I don't think you can. If you lived near me I'd certainly offer to have you come over and we could do it.

      Thanks for the suggestions guys.

Regarding updates, I've read here in a few places the advice that if it ain't broke, don't fix it for software updates. This car had a lot of work done on it by a previous owner (replaced engine and transmission) and everything seems to be running fine. So I'm inclined to leave well enough alone here.

As for DRL delete, it appears that has been done by a previous owner. Yeah!

      Thanks all for the suggestions!

I didn't have any issues with the one I used.

Awesome, thanks for the info! I’m considering getting vida for a few days just to upgrade some things here and there and didn’t want to order if it wouldn’t work with my dice.

Hey guys, if I were to buy software just to be able to program/remove keys, how much would it cost and where to buy? I'm also looking to buy that Vida device. Thanks!

So for me, this is what it cost me to do that -

New Volvo Key - $67 - you need to make sure the key isn't programmed to another car already and you need to have some codes that come with the key. Safest bet is to buy a new one.
      https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0...?ie=UTF8&psc=1

      Dice - $71 - I negotiated it down a few bucks
      https://www.ebay.com/itm/173259659647?ul_noapp=true

      3-Day Vida subscription - $83
      https://www.volvotechinfo.com/index....fo.vida.repair

Software download (in Vida) to program key - $31(ish)

So it cost me around $250 to program a key (I actually bought and programmed two keys so my total was $320).

That compares to the $488 I was quoted from an independent key shop for a single key. I never checked w/ Volvo so I'm not sure what a stealer would have asked for it.

So I saved about $160, have two keys instead of one, and now have a DICE.

Now all that said, it isn't for the faint of heart. I was stressing that I would mess it up and either waste my money or worse brick my ECU. I followed the advice from this thread and post - https://forums.swedespeed.com/showth...=1#post7257533

Hi Nexus, thank you for the detailed response! I will try this when I have time. I only have one key for the car and the key is kinda beat up so I don't want to risk it.

      Thanks again!

Your welcome, I'm glad to be able to give back to the community. This site has been very helpful to me.

I just realized that you need to make sure you get a key for your model. The one I linked works for mine, but yours may be different.

And getting the Vida program going is not straight forward. I assume there is a good write up here somewhere about the process of installing it, getting a subscription, activating the subscription (the most non-straight forward part), buying software, and activating software (also not straight forward). I just kind of stumbled through it.

      HI Everyone,

I don't understand, are you suggesting to remove the DRL (Daytime Running Ligths) meaning off?

      thx

Yes so when you turn the switch to 0 everything is off. Even the license plate bulbs. Parking is then only parking, and on is headlights on. Nice if you have HIDs and don't want to burn your bulbs during the daytime.
