      I have a '16 with the same 18" Momentum 5 spoke wheels and considering buying 20" wheels/tires off someone (Brand new take-offs from a '19 XC90)

However I understand that TPMS is handled differently on the '16 model year than the later years ... any truth to this?
MY16 needs physical TPMS sensors installed. you also need to go to the dealer to update the computer setting after changing the tire sizes/widths.

oh wow ... thanks ... so I would have to dismount tires on new wheel set and old, transfer sensors and remount (= more $) ... and then calibrate computer at dealer ... damn.

chillg8r ... did dealer do all this for you for the original quoted wheelset price? (I am assuming you have a '16 MY)

$1000 for wheels, tires, mounting, balancing, alignment, tax, everything. I sold my old wheels and tires for $500. I have a 2017.

      Yes.

MY16 has direct TPMS measurement. Actual tire pressures can be seen on the center display.

MY17 and onwards use indirect TPMS by measuring the number of revolutions per mile. On the center display, you only get a colored dot indicating if a wheel is too far off from expected. Tire pressures are not displayed because they are unknown.

      That's awesome ... great deal!
I would do it in a second as well if it was offered by my dealer.
