      Liquid Draining from Undercarriage, Normal?

      Happy Monday All,

Returning home from my daily commute on Friday, I noted that there was liquid draining from the undercarriage of my 19XC-90, pretty much directly below the glove compartment. First I can recall seeing any liquid draining off the car. I was using AC, and may have engaged the window washers but I can't recall. Sunny weather so shouldn't have been sunroof drainage, but I wondered about AC condensation? Just wondering if this is normal, or something that warrants investigation?

Thanks in advance for any insights.

AC condensation most likely. Which would be 100% normal. You should be able to touch it and smell.. if no odor then it's just water, and from the condensation.

Thank you, that's the answer I was hoping for!

Given the location, I think you should examine this more closely. There was a technical service bulletin on the bleeder hose that attaches to the coolant expansion tank which is located in the engine compartment near the glove box. Open the hood and stand at the passenger side. Pull up the weatherstripping at this location to allow access to a plastic hatch that covers the coolant expansion tank. Look for evidence that coolant has leaked from where the bleeder hose connects to the expansion tank (see below - you may see splatter marks around the area if it has been leaking). If it has been leaking, you need to get another bleeder hose installed, and be sure to check the coolant level in the expansion tank.

It may be that the hose just needs to be pushed harder onto the expansion tank, but if it’s been leaking I would try to get a new one installed.
