Where do you put your phone in the car?

Do you use a cellphone holder?

Do you exclusively use the navigation in the car etc?

I've been trying to figure out where to place it, I like to have my phone up so I can access things quicker.

My iPhone goes into the center console and stays there. There is nothing I need to access on my phone while driving that I canít accomplish using CarPlay or pull over first.

Coming from having my iPhone dash mounted in my last XC60, itís liberating not to have it so available.

My cell phone stays in my pocket when I drive.

My cell stays in my pocket. I rarely use navigation. If I do plug the phone in I use the unmarked USB just to charge it. When I got the car I thought Iíd use Apple car play, I tried it once and not since. I might use it if it actually was the phone with all the apps except playing movies & YouTube with the display in portrait mode.

I place my phone either on the passenger seat or on the cover over the cup holders. I don't use my phone in the car as I don't use Android Auto. I do use Sensus Navigation...haven't had any issue with it other than I still have not figured out how to tell it to NOT avoid toll roads. In the settings I do not have the box checked to avoid toll roads but yet it still will not route me on the toll road in Toronto. I have 'quickest route' selected in settings and I know that taking the toll road is the quickest route.

Center console cubby, plugged in. It gets charged and allows me to use CarPlay for navigation and music, and thatís all I need while driving.

Really like the ProClip mount. Slide in/out for CarPlay.

Mine stays in the armrest storage, because its hooked up to Android Auto, so I have no need to see my phone in side the cabin. I use a mix of the OEM Navigation, Google Maps or Waze.

I thought I was going to install a proclip mount before I bought my XC60. I even bookmarked a guide to install it I found in the XC90 forum. After driving around for two months without it I feel no need to do so. Itís a beautiful and fun car to drive. B&W + CarPlay gets it done.

I use a vent clip on fast charger. I wish the car had a charging pad like the 40 does though.

mine is in the arm rest or in the cupholder tray, or if there are cups there then in the ash tray area with the cable running along the side.

I put it in the cup holder, to charge it. No need to look at it, but still within reach if I need to check something. I am a bit disappointed about the available space though: even if the tunnel is definitely not small, it seems that all the spaces are minuscule. You cannot close the cupholder cover if there is anything in there.

I usually leave my phone in one of the cup holders, as it fits nicely there. I wish there was a nice wireless charging pad like the XC40, but I've found the Sensus-based navigation to work well. It's only thrown me a curveball one time, and it was on a recently opened road.

I used Android Auto at first, but now I use just Google maps on the phone.

The phone attachment should be mounted horizontally, mine is vertical because of the vertical vent fins. I could stabilize it all with my wife's hair tie. It's totally a redneck solution, but it's good enough.

I am using a MagBag phone case which comes with a magnet that you can stick (glue) under the central screen, as shown on the picture. This works very well.
      The only drawbacks are:
      - The phone hides the audio power button (I don't use it much anyway)
      - The phone location is not ideal for GPS reception.

1st option is in cup holders if no cups in there.
2nd option is passenger front seat still can plug in to charge there also.
3rd option is in center console .

I think it is about time for all car makers to start including phone holders and wireless chargers akin to cup holders.

Wireless chargers, at least as an upgrade, has become pretty commonplace. Any car getting a redesign from this point forward would surprise me to not have the option. I'm hoping Volvo will put it into a refresh for the XC60. The XC40 has it as an option, and I was told the XC90 Excellence did... but I've not actually verified that.

I love the wireless charging in my XC40. Typically I have my iPx plugged in for Car Play and my wife will have her iPx charging on the pad.

      Wireless CarPlay would be nice.

I love this holder because the color match is almost perfect with my XC60 interior and it's also mechanical grab and wireless Qi charging. Doesn't get any simpler than this.

Wow that’s fancy. Where do you get this from and how does it mount to the console?

Mounts with a typical air vent clip. I got it from Amazon, but it looks like they have a new model now. I ordered it from here...

Where are you located? Does Amazon JP ship to Canada? If not might be an excuse to travel to Tokyo just to get a hold of one

Also, can't tell clearly but is it mounted to the bottom of your vent? The last time I tried one of these air vent holders the mount actually scuffed the finishing on the delicate vent fins.

Yeah, I'm in Japan, and it's mounted to the bottom. The clip has rubber on the inside, so I don't see any scuffing. Surprised there's not something similar available in Canada. You could do a search, maybe Rakuten have them and will ship to Canada.
