      2001 S40 Shifter Boot / Gaiter removal

      Greetings,

I want to replace the original shifter boot / gaiter -
but can't get the shifter frame off.

Many thanks in advance for your help.

P.S. If anyone wants pics of the housing removal process so far - just PM me.

I did this a long time ago so I’m a bit foggy on how I did it. I do remember the last step being quite annoying. I seem to remember having to reach underneath to release a clip to be able to lift the gear display bezel out. You may want to look into volvo forums uk X40 forum. I think that is covered somewhere in there. There are still a large numbers of owners of these cars over there.
