What oil should I use for a 130k motor ?

I have almost finished hitting up the car after it’s been down for a long enough time. Anyways the engine that I have ready to drop in has 135k on it and I don’t know if I should use a thicker oil ? I don’t want to potentially mess up the turbo. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I wouldn't change the oil you use based on that sort of mileage.
Go with fully synth with the viscosity suitable for the average temperature you will be driving in

Agreed. I have 126k on mine and use Mobil 1 10W30 year round, but then again I live in Phoenix where the winter lows are nearly the same as the summer highs in some of the parts of the frigid North.

"When temperatures exceed 86° F (30° C) in your area, Volvo recommends, for the protection of your engine, that you use a heavier weight oil, such as such as SAE 5W- 40 or 0W-40. See the viscosity chart."

Use full synthetic that meets your use needs according to this table.

That makes sense. I live in NC where the weather is up and down constantly.

I really thought all the car manufacturers had pulled back from advocating 0 W oil, I know they specc'd it when made but I believe I read recently about a Maserati bought 2nd hand that crapped it's motor, and the court case was thrown out because a later bulletin said not to use the zero weight oil now.

I've been using mostly Mobil 1 0W40 (black top European Car Formula) for quite a long time now, but I have used M1 10W30, Castrol 5W30 (GC), Pennzoil Platinum 10W30, etc. Synthetic oil since new. I've been using the M1 0W40 because my Benz requires that oil, so it's easier to have just one oil to stock. BTW, all 0 weight oils are not created the same. I do get some oil consumption with 0W40 (1 quart in 5k miles), noticeably less with some other oils. 161k miles from new.
