Akebono ceramic. Aftet trying lots of other sorts I now use them on all my cars. Good stopping and low dust.

Don’t get me wrong, I know Akebono are reliable ones, but my impression is that they are simply well constructed product and nothing more than a substitution of the OEM’s, but not an upgrade. I’m pissed off, because it’s more than obvious that Volvo downgraded their brake system with their latest XC90 versions and never admitted their fault. However, I’m leaning towards EBC, a really well know and reliable player in the game, made in UK, not China. Any thoughts?

I have the red EBC on the rear of my XC90 T8 and they exhibit a bit of dust. Less than the original but more than the PowerStop I placed in the front. The Red EBC were almost $80 or so while the PowerStop were only around $3x I will most likely replace the red with the PowerStop. I also tried the Stoptech in the front and they were as bad as the oem with respect to dust. I replaced my rotors with cross drilled and slotted from stoptech for the looks as well as keeping the pads clean. Hope that helps

It’s funny...I’m considering exactly the same tactic...replacing the brake rotors and the pads but I’m split which brand to go with.
