      New C70 owner!

So I bought a C70 after looking, wanting and lurking for the last 15 years! Got her out of North Carolina and nephew went and picked her up. She arrived yesterday.

She's flamenco red with a charcoal interior. She's going to need new shoes in about 6 months and I was thinking I wanted a bit more sidewall to better protect the 18" rims and tires. I was really surprised at how well this car rides. Very comfortable. And smooth.

1st thing I would like to do is get a strut tower brace. Thinking the stock one. Good price at ipd. Unless one of you guys upgraded to a fancy one and have a stock one laying around you want to sell. Also notices this morning that I have no antenna. Any suggestions other than stock or should I just get the stock one?

She's dirty from the road or I would put up some pics. 35 degrees right now but beginning to warm up so I might was her today.

Last question for right now. Tops stows just as it should, but when going back up the passenger side is a bit late and doesn't latch down at the middle or at the windshield without a helping hand. So right now, two people required to raise the top.

Any of you guys ever experienced this?

Welcome to the club! I've only had one fail on the top, with the latches at the windshield header failing to release to allow the top to drop into place properly. Never did it again. I'd suggest a good lube with the specified lubricant (which I can't recall). :^S

AFAIK, the only year of C70 that had a stock strut tower brace was the first year, 2006. For 2007 and later cars, they basically "built the bracing in", in that there was a sort of hidden brace under the cowl area. You can just see one end of it, on the driver side, if you look carefully. That's not to say that an add-on, non-stock strut tower brace wouldn't still help make things a bit more rigid. I guess the main message is to make sure that what you get will bolt on properly to your model year....

I'm looking for a picture of the rear arm adjustment spacer. Having trouble with my top closing without a hand from me.

Congrats on the C70. I have a MY10. I purchased the OEM front strut bar from FCPEURO for about $60. It was a great improvement in the front end. In fact I always have bought after market front braces for my Volvo’s. They square up the front suspension.
