      V O L V O Trunk Lid Badge Placement?

      Hi all,
I had my trunk lid replaced & the lid did not come with the V O L V O badge. I have since ordered one.
While it comes with a guide to make sure that the letters are evenly spaced and straight, I do not know the vertical alignment of the badge. I need a starting point.
Would anyone be able to help me out & measure the distance between the trunk lid handle and the bottom of the "L".
      The car is a 2012 S60.

      Any help is greatly appreciated!

Distance from L to handle is 1 1/2", each letter is about 3 1/2 " apart

is it a T5 or T6 ? Good luck with the job.

I would just visit your local Volvo dealer or any used car lot that has an S60 and bring your tape measure.

      Thanks

      T5. I appreciate the response!
I'd have gone to a dealer to measure myself, but there aren't that many around me and those that are are out of the way.

No problem, more importantly since you have a T5 make sure to monitor your engine's oil consumption. Check it every fuel filling, top off if needed. If your car falls in the VIN# range of effected vehicles, it may be a concern. Have you owned it for a long time ? How many miles on it ?

3M makes an adhesive specifically for affixing car emblems: Plastic and Emblem Adhesive. I've used it a few times and think it's a good product, although I don't recall if I've used it on my Volvo.

Just a hair over 100,000 now. No sign of excessive oil consumption (yet). I'm quite militant about checking, however not every fueling.
Where would I go about finding VIN range of vehicles at risk?

      Volvo's own TJ-29871 issued February of 2015 for range 0017819 thru 0170117

This thread shows the VIN # range, but there are so many threads of individual situations. If you've made it to 100K with little drama, you should be good, but definitely keep an eye on that dipstick.

Just realized my car's last 7 digits (202****) fall out of the effected range but still burns oil, not that Volvo cares...I'm not a dealer serviced customer.

I'm just another brick in the wall.

      Dimensions are shown in VIDA.

The first 'V' starts at 110mm from the right most tip of the taillight.
The letters lower line is 40mm above the lower edge of the trim piece.

Maybe make yourself a cardboard template using the dimensions listed above. Measure and tape in the right position and then apply the letters.
