Question Seafoam Spray? Where in the engine?

(I did t quick search in this subforum but found nothing...)

I'm thinking about running the Seafoam Spray method through my engine to give it a good clean out, however I'll be totally honest here: I'm very much 'green' when it comes to knowing the various parts of my engine beyond the fluids and air filter.

Would someone be able to show, with pictures, where I would be injecting the Seafoam Spray into the engine? (My engine is the B6304T4, T6)
Or is there a link someone can point to?

Thank you in advance, it would probably be helpful to other folks here too (maybe?)

Are you exhibiting issues that make you want to run seafoam through it?

You'd normally dump it in the gas tank, dump it in the crankcase, change the oil after 200 miles or so, and suck some up through a vacuum port.

I wouldn't recommend it unless you have a reason for it.

No issues, just want to keep the engine's components as clean as possible and keep my performance as high as possible. I'm nearing 92k miles.

No updates yet - hoping someone can tell me where to insert spray (I'm still learning my way around the engine, and through my DIY processes learning about the other components like suspension and so on)

I used to pull it in thru the brake booster vacuum line in other cars. Not sure if that applies here. On the 850 I pulled from vac tree. Xc70 at the reference port on intake.

For most part anymore I will run a full can thru gas tank and split a second can between intake and in the engine oil. Drive 50-100 miles and change oil immediately.

The brake booster line is for sure easiest, I remember on all my XCs there didn't seem to be one. I do remember letting it suck in through a small line.

They also make one where you can put the little hose in, and get it directly into the intake or close to it.

Back on the shelf in the store you got it from. It's snake oil and has no meaningful effect on your engine.

      +1.
Besides, some of the suggestions are downright dangerous for some people to attempt. I can just imagine someone pouring in a giant slug of some liquid into the intake and hydro-locking the engine. Please, NEVER force a liquid into the engine air intake.

Umm... Snake oil that doesn’t work? Have you ever used it? YMMV of course...

Fast forward to 5:03 to see results

Granted not a huge difference in one application. However if used early/often I would expect better results.

Another one (GDI valves). Much better results

Quick heads up: You've got $4-5K worth of emissions equipment downstream of the engine. Not sure Seafoam is worth that gamble.

If you use non-crappy gas and decent motor oil,you should be fine for hundreds of thousands of miles.

So many of these "success stories" on YouTube are either hard to see, or are a worst case scenario.... or on a poorly designed engine. I mean, after 30 years of Volvo engines, I've never seen them look as bad as the *starting* point in many of these videos.
