      Looks fantastic!
It appears there is a sticker below the rear window. I have to wonder why anyone would put a sticker onto the paint of such a great car?
I also have an FBI clipboard, so I'm wondering how that relates to the vehicle.

      Hey 3man---
Since you also have a clipboard then maybe you know the original handler? The lady owner put the sticker on--it is political and I don't want to have a political discussion!! It has a special adhesive that will not harm the paint.
Here is the documentation that came with the clipboard----

      Very Nice!
Yep---It's Silver, has no cigarettes ever, loves premium but will run on regular, cruises calmly to Chicago or DC without a whimper and is a safe sweet ride! Years and years of TLC.
From the records the FBI owner added a front suspension stiffener, IPD stainless steel exhaust system and a computer upgrade to provide more umph! Also installed Bilstein B6's and
lowered springs. That is all that they did as far as I can tell. I upgraded the fluids to Amsoil in all locations and installed the 302 brakes and drilled rotors and etc.

Ha, actually I wouldn't. I only have a clipboard because it was my father's and that was from when he was there, back in the late 80s. But I do know an FBI sniper, who was in NoVa, and retired here locally. Really cool guy.
Smart move on covering the sticker, I totally agree. Still awful that she placed it on paint instead of glass.

No 240's on the property---but there is a late model Mercedes wagon that is also silver.

nice V70R. from here it looks close to the condition of mine, which is remarkable considering the mileage difference. the driver's seat panel is interesting -- is that a sheepskin cover? or was the alcantara panel replaced entirely? the color is perfect... i imagine if you replaced all the panels with that it would look factory, like an old Bentley or something.

I always find it interesting how we ascribe certain patterns of behaviors to gender AND profession.... as if there are ideal combinations that will somehow inform the condition of a car... "female professor" is super funny. it's like the postmodern version of "grandma driven."

They might look similar , but the 98 and the 2000 v70rs drive completely different. From the trans to the feel of the gas pedal. Completely different experience.

Could be a female engineering professor or something. I had a lot of female professors when I was studying engineering. Pretty sure a very significant portion of them know what a turbo is and how to use it lol.

      +1
The engine management is completely different. Also 19T on the 2000 vs 16T on the 98. It's like an electric stove vs an induction stove. Might look exactly the same but they work completely different ways.

I completely agree with the super funny remark about the female professor. I bought my first Volvo in 1967 and have owned at least one or more Volvo's every year since then. Having also owned a Volvo repair shop in Berkeley CA. I can tell you that a very large number of University Professors have always owned Volvo's. And this lady happens to teach Ancient and Greek History but is car savvy which is why she owns a V70R as opposed to a V70.
The front seat started to "pill" like a sweater does about 3 years ago so we put a 1/2 sheepskin cover over it to preserve it. The passenger and rear seats look as brand new and the third row seat is unused. This is very very nice car and needs to have a new owner who can appreciate the model. Oh, and another note---in its entire life since the FBI the car has NEVER failed to drive home for any reason whatsoever. And this stands in stark contrast to the number of customers of mine who bought 2000 models and broke down on the road with defective MAF's, including my sister-in-law.

Along with all the talk I sure am hoping that someone on this forum will pick up this car and take care of it.

Price Drop to $6999 for Black Friday (which in Texas seems to go on for days and days)

if it doesn't, consider Bring a Trailer -- they love cars with interesting provenance, assuming you have some information on how it was used during its tenure with HRT
