Interesting garage floor, Ceramic Tiles ? Even if you had the mortar spread evenly, wouldn't it be prone to crack with the weight of a car ?

I actually did some research on the tires and they apparently are decently rated and manufactured by Cooper. I haven't had an opportunity to test them in snow, but they did well enough in rain. That said, I still don't really want them. I'm currently just trying to use them up (we're using the car for every trip we take right now) and then I'll slap on some Nokians.

Eh brand and ratings don't really mean much to me. The Michelin Defenders my dad's NAm used to have were, well, obviously Michelins, and also one of consumer reports pet tires. Those things were absolutely terrifying when it was wet or cold. Could spin them all the way through 2nd gear in the dry in the winter....in a NA!!!

Speaking of tires i bought 2 sets of Nokians AS last spring. 1 set for the comets S70 and Tethys S60. Both front tires on the S60 lost air needed to be filled every 3 days. One front tire on the S70 was the same situation. From an earlier thread i was complaining about wheel shake at high speed on the S60. Just installed no name snow tires on the Tethys and the wheel shake is gone and not losing air. Any chance i got a bad batch of tires from Simply Tires ? Would be my luck after getting 2 bad Behr expansion tanks.

Maybe you have (a) bent wheel(s). We had a zLine AS on a known bent wheel, and it leaked. Fixed the wheel, leak solved. Everyone around here is still getting great results with their Nokians. However I lost count of how many bent wheels we've collectively seen a looooooong time ago.

Mounting a new tire would involve rebalancing which would be likely to fix a shake.

Also I'm kinda confused as to what you mean by "front tires." Like did something change with rotations or did you just not get to a rotation or ????

So the leak could not be detected or was it never checked out? I mean its not that hard to determine a leak. I doubt you got two bad tires. Maybe your valve stem was leaking or possibly a leak on the bead?

Iím among the lucky ones like Jared and Will. Knock on wood but both sets of mine are like butter and wearing very well. Come to think of it, itís probably rotation time front to back when I change oil on the s60 soon.

I don't think you're lucky lol; I think your experience is perfectly normal. We got lots of other friends running them who aren't on here, some who don't even have Volvos. My friend who has the Nautic T5M now put zLine AS his girlfriend's Mazda 2 or whatever it was that she had a couple years ago and her dad complaining they were noisy (.....WTF????) was the only complaint I've ever heard. We're still buying plenty and not having problems.

I suspect that was alignment cause when the nautic was cross eyed on new zlines it made an awful racket of tire noise.

Makes sense on the wheels being rebalanced with the snow tires (no more steering wheel shake). Don't think i have any bent Tethys because the snow tires are not losing air. You guys might be right about a bad stem or bead. Will find out next spring when the Nokians go back on. PSA, this was in no way to discredit Nokians, the grip and handling are incredible. Next up, refinishing the Propus wheels while i sport the "Cletus" wheels this winter on my S70. Nobody speaking about the fever on BAT and the No Reserve magobi manual VR? Texas car. We MUST know whose this is...
The black 04 went for nearly 12K and the ex-chase magicama unit went for 16, the sonic for nearly 26. What are the bets on this one?
6 days to go and at 7,777 right now. Looks pretty nice, with some minor imperfections and slight peg rash. A few IPD goodies - I see a blue bar, cover and pins.
94K, rail-less, with boosters, window shades, sunroof, third row, nav, park assist, climate, new DWS, a light tint.
I wish these had a VIDA screen shot to show all green modules.
Looks dry and clean underneath, no hits. 82K had new 4C install, 91K TB.

The question I have to ask anybody who is selling: What on earth will you replace it with? Don't say an e63 or I'll cry. That will never happen for me, so my car better last a friggin long ass time or I'll have to change my name, go off grid and get a Corolla.

500 bucks takes a black 2005 2.5T with trans issues and prancing moose stickers.
Parts alone could yield far more, or replace the trans and keep rolling after 150K.

Stunning example. Clean, well kept Gobi looks great - itís a tough color to maintain. BAT manages to capture my attention when Iím at the computer with that first cup of coffee in the morning. Magicama/Sonicama both reach out and grab, no question - but your combo has an elegance that will make this a very interesting auction. If I hadnít just snagged that Ď99 Red V70R listed on
Page 3 here Iíd be bidding. GLWTA

Congratulations! That seemed like a good deal on a clean example. Are you in Idaho? Or you had to travel for it?

6 days to go and at 7,777 right now. Looks pretty nice, with some minor imperfections and slight peg rash. A few IPD goodies - I see a blue bar, cover and pins.
94K, rail-less, with boosters, window shades, sunroof, third row, nav, park assist, climate, new DWS, a light tint.
I wish these had a VIDA screen shot to show all green modules.
Looks dry and clean underneath, no hits. 82K had new 4C install, 91K TB.

Yeah, I got the email notification for it. I'm leaning towards $15/$16 on it. I'm completely fine with Magic/Gobi. It's changed a few hands, but seems to been spared any salty winters.

Edit: Also good to see JRL posting in the comments on BaT. I was just thinking I haven't seen him here recently.

CW - It turned out to have a rather complete history of three long term enthusiast owners, good maint history and apparently better than average condition. I had a Ď00 V70 GLT some time back and really like the crispness of the p80 styling. This Ď99R has just under 150K documented miles. I live out in W.WA, so my new challenge is moving it from Boise to Whidbey Island. Normally, Flyín Drive is fun - this time of the year, Iím hoping for an enclosed car carrier. The next week will determine that outcome. Itís too early to determine whether the R will replace my well loved Ď01 T5M, or my Ď03 Carrera... Iíll post more detail when Iíve finally got it ensconced in my garage.

you bought a car off the non-affiliated thread? between that one and the one in Chicago, that one was the better buy. even though more expensive probably cheaper in the long run.

Love the V70R craze on BaT right now. I also got the email notification this AM.

Beautiful car, but I think the exterior photos are poor overall. In most pictures the car looks black or eggplant at best. And Magic Blue is a MUCH nicer color -- it needs to be photographed under florescent I think to really show that nice blue flake. Dunno why Gobi is considered less desirable; I think it looks wonderful if well maintained. Not being a hater on the photos, the seller clearly documented the flaws well -- just my thoughts as I didn't realize it was Magic Blue until well into the album.

I'm gonna guess this car gets $17k-$19k. Love the clean engine bay and ultra-dry underbody -- that's what got me to shell out the premium dollars for mine.

And yeah Duett is the seller -- it's the same name here as on there.

I figured it out. I edited my post after I noticed the same. I'm a little slow sometimes.

I've been very tempted by S-Line Avants in the past. Greenwood has a well-curated selection usually. The paint color on the bumpers looks off though.
