      Random Stalls at Warm Start-up

      Hi,
Wondering if anyone else has experienced this. It's happening on my '02 V70XC.
Car starts without fail when cold but recently. I've had a few instances (maybe 8x over the course of a couple of weeks) where I get back in car after having done whatever (say grocery pick-up) I start up the car, revs up to maybe 1200 rpm (whatever is normal when engine is warm) and then drop down to 700 where it very briefly holds and then dies altogether. 75% of time, when I try and restart the same thing happens.

      Ideas?

I had similar issue, it was the air intake hose (I think, it was a couple of years ago) leaking. It required a smoke test to diagnose it, I couldn't find the leak myself.

If it's an intake leak or issue with the MAF pull the MAF connector to see if it changes.

Try replacing the fuel rail pressure sensor.

Yeah that was my first thought but the 02 has no regulator on rail.

Mine did that after it blew off the poorly installed OTE pipe off the turbo... Finally took it to a local shop and he said he cleared 'stored codes' (CEL was not on) and it cleared up...

First thing is to read the codes and look at the LTFT and MAF values.
