Just finished full trim blackout on new-to-us '16 Bursting Blue R-Design

My wife is like me and hates chrome/bright trimwork as much as I do. So when we found her a low mileage 2016 we immediately went to black out all the eyesore silver trim (we dont understand why even in 2020 Volvo does not offer black trim as on the XC40).

Anyway, here is the result if anyone is curious how it looks. She loves it.

Thanks all! Currently still learning all the features of the car. Pretty impressed so far, even if its an automatic (our first slushbox in over 10 years).

Just had the Android auto update performed free of charge and really impressed with its integration. Dealer is currently running a special on Polestar software and PA2 upgrade so trying to convince the wife that would be a nice Christmas upgrade.

Anyone know how to swap the reverse light bulbs, or even what the bulbs themselves are? I am a lighting geek and it really bothers me the entire car is LED except for those, but I don't see any way of accessing them minus removing the whole tail lamp assembly which looks like a pretty big job.

Haha good catch! This is our first Volvo after years of Audi, Subaru, and Porsche, now I've got to learn a whole new color palate name set

This was all done with vinyl wrap with a 9H ceramic coating on top. In retrospect I probably would have just bought a set of OEM black mirror caps vs wrapping them.
