      Snow tire recommendation for 2018 XC60 T6

I am thinking of putting a set of snow tire on my 2018 XC60 T6, original equipped 255/45R20. I live in central Ohio and see big snow few times a year, need to drive though some steep slope to work
Down to 2 selections, which one would you pick and why, or other recommendation
      1. Tirerack ($1,802): downgrade size to BRIDGESTONE BLIZZAK DM-V2 235/55R19 PLUS SPARCO PODIO rim 19X8.5
      2. Discount Tire ($1,179): NOKIAN TIRE HAKKAPELIITTA 8 SUV STUDDABLE 255 /45 R20 105T XL BSW

Thanks in advance for any input

They're both good choices but I'd give the edge to Nokian just based on folks' reviews here. Only thing is it looks like you would need to get a set of wheels to mount them on. I don't recommend mounting and dismounting tires every season - over time the tires or wheels will get damaged.

      Snow tire recommendation for 2018 XC60 T6

You probably don’t want the hakka 8. They’re very open tread and quote loud especially when studded (I own and run a set). That being said they have insane grip.

My suggestion would be nokians wrg4. They’re amazing in snow, the only tire I’ve ever driven in slush that was at all effective.

      $932 a set

      OR

Hakka R3 non studded these will be very good snow tires and gain you an ice edge. Special grip grit, extra soft rubber.

      $1148 a set

      Snow tire recommendation for 2018 XC60 T6

Thank you both @Wayne T5 and @ScottishBrick. So I decided to get a set of Nokian Hakka R3 SUV 235/55/R19 and 19” Konig rims from Discount Tire

Superb choice. You should be quite happy with those. I’ll just mention that as soon as it gets warm out take them off immediately they wear very fast when it gets over 45, as you’ll soon learn when they arrive the rubber is insanely soft.
