It really depends what the experience you're looking for is. I wouldn't really consider them a "Volvo" in the sense most of us on here think. It's built on a Ford/Mazda platform. They use Mazda3 go fast toys. I've been in a few P1s and they haven't really meet expectations coming from my 850s. My dad had a MY96 Ford Escort estate when I was a kid and to me P1s feel much more closely related to that than they do to P80/P2.

C30/S40/V50 all the same car. I agree though C30 look fantastic but the underlying car just isn't for me.

For what it's worth (not much, everyone has opinions of course) I love my S40 and it feels every bit a "real" Volvo to me. This is having driven Focus STs and Mazda 3s, the other two cars that share the platform. It feels substantially different to me, much more like the 06 V70 and S80 I had before (but stiffer and faster).

I wouldn't mind a parts car and have considered the idea, but the truth of the matter is that almost everything Snowball gets is brand spanking new. lol

They are super fun to drive, especially when lowered like this guy has done. Maintenance costs are pretty low compared to typical Volvo (P2 era). As for a daily driver, it's hard to go wrong.
Of course they do have their own issues to be aware of:
      https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=F1zN-Mbg-q8

Interior materials are not at the same level of a P2 though, a little more plastic and the feel/look is different than what many consider "classic Volvo". Of course "classic" is totally subjective. P80's to me are
the quintessential Volvo, but the sagging headliners, faded paint, creaky dash, and gummy controls are more off-putting to me. That being said, I'd still love to own a P80 wagon that doesn't have all those issues as they
do have a great driving experience since there's not a lot of tech and weight to get in the way.

      Who doesn't like gummy controls?

But to your point about P80 goodness, I test drove that '99 V70 T5A with 273k miles on the clock (that we've talked about here before) last weekend, and a long list of cosmetic issues aside, that car ran really strong and was quite solid for age, miles and I kid you not, had pristine, non-sagging door cards that must have been replaced at some point.

If I understand correctly, FB marketplace estimates a price they think is reasonable and then set high/low limits based on that expected value.

platinum 850 $800 120k. too bad about the hood other wise the body and paint look pretty good. I'm guessing that would be a difficult paint to match.

This one is right up the street from me. He is a dealer that takes trade in's that the local dealer does not want to retail. He starts all of his ads with "for sale is my...). It's been his for about two minutes, lol. My local dealer is really picky about what they will put on their used car lot.

      Since we're talking XC70 T6's, another one local to me. 2013 platinum, 92k miles, P*, $15k.

Needs new tires and it always annoys me when folks don't trade in the car with the luggage cover- it's probably hiding in the corner of the previous owner's garage and will be tossed in the trash at some point <end rant>.

Actually the southernmost point in Canada is Windsor Ontario which is just across the border from Detroit. Windsor's latitude is equal to northern California's. BTW, Detroit is north of Windsor - go figure!!

I'd be headed over to check this out but I have to save for a trip this year. I talked to the guy and he's the original owner, and told him I'd post here.
No trans flare. He said probably needs PCV but breathes well, TB was checked and is good, but again - I'd get it done to be sure. 154K miles, DWS with a lot of tread left.
Nice looking and sounds like he's done a lot of the good work. Just needs TPMS and a clockspring (thanks to Scottish, who helped me by scoring a XC90 one with DSTC that fixed my R, and it wasn't a bad install).
Final year P2: 2009 S60 2.5T AWD SE model for 3800 bucks, clean black and oak, with talos, clean headlights, climate, stainless trim inside. No park assist and I can't tell if it has rain sensor.

      Nice!
Now I know what the Special Editions had for badging.

SAS shouldn't be terribly difficult to replace right? It may not impact drivability but may disable cruise control, I can't recall, I had line replaced under warranty super early.

You mean that it looks raked?
Most S60 AWDs sit a bit higher in the rear. My sister has an 09 S60 2.5T AWD and it looks similar.
I see what you mean though it does look really high in some of the pics.

Yup, the AWD's are super high in the back.

My remedy, after numerous trials, was to put in OEM R springs, not lowering springs. Car sits flat and perfect now.

If I had time/money/space I'd e more tempted to pick this up for a full set of spare parts (white paint would be perfect)

      Seller not responding.
My buddy says that it is either a mistake, a scam,or if I go look at it I'd wake up in a bath tub full of ice missing a kidney. :shrug
