Interesting move. Probably a good one and save a few $ that way too. Going for an automatic then I'm guessing?

That picnic table. LOL. My wife loved that thing. Used it for craft shows and yard sales...
Keyless entry, ABS, Alum wheels, EX had a decent stereo (but not like the Volvos), she had them add a roof rack (car was four years old used at a Honda dealer).
Had the lift glass and side ways rear hatch. I kinda miss it, and should have kept it. Would have been the perfect daily, and yes - super easy to work on and surprisingly cheap to run.
Here it is on the trailer all cleaned up to get to my Dad on September 23, 2014 - I sold it for 400 bucks to him to help my M&D out.

No keyless entry (weíve replaced like 4 door lock cylinders)
      No ABS
      Cloth seats
      Steelie wheels
      Single CD & Tape player

And the picnic table in the trunk, she loves this lol.

Sheís driven the hell out of this thing, 225k miles, surprisingly low in maintenance costs, sheís a little sad to be selling it (sheís now in a 2014 MDX chock full of tech)

We currently have 4 cars, planning on driving 2 cross country and then shipping old car, doesnít make sense to pay to ship the old CRV as well, especially since Midwest winters are taking a toll on the underside slowly. And love the wifey to pieces, but she believes rain washes a car, so the only pic I have is either while doing maintenance (brakes, starter, suspension) or when I was doing a dozen tiny rust touch up spots all over the body with rust reformer.

We grabbed the larger Acura from family for a steal, even if we only keep it for the move and sell it in a year and get her back into something she wants (4runner or rav4 hybrid are really high on the list), at least we have a buyer at her work/university for the old Honda.

It is ironic though that my car is currently in the shop for a larger bill than her old Honda ever got (except for when the AC went out before I met her maybe)

      I like those old CRV's.

We just got a new one a few months ago and it's really hard getting used to the CVT in that thing. Tech, mileage (32 mpg), comfort, features, etc. is great, I just like hearing gear changes, lol.

5 SPD manual, baby. I'm sure that motor got a workout from me.
Original clutch, one set of brakes in ~170K.

Having driven both 4Runner and RAV4, I thought both were pretty awful but I'd take the Rav4 hands down as a street car.

I owned a 2006 Tacoma and liked it, haven't driven a modern 4 runner though.

She likes smaller suvs and hates the new crv. We had a '19 rav rental in Vegas/Utah and both found it pleasant (as a car for her)

My daily right now is a 98 crv 5 speed. I like it. But going 70-75mph down the highway itís at 3,500 rpm. So itís loud. But decent gas mileage and kinda fun to drive. Amazing in the snow too.

if you keep it nice, those 5 speeds are gonna hold their value really well. in 10-20 years there will be very few left and they're wonderful little utes -- much more attractive and practical than the RAV4 i think

my dad had a '86 Honda Civic 4WD with a 5-speed that he drove only to the train station and back. he sold it in 2002 for $500. it had 82,000 miles on it and was mint.

      Lol.

I'd probably be inclined to keep it if it was a 5 speed, unfortunately the last 6 years in the midwest is taking it's toll. So far we've fully rusted through the exhaust right between the cat & muffler, and the lower shock bolts (front) were seized and in the removal process broke the welded nuts. It's got the typical valve cover gasket leak on the back of the motor, couple of cv joints are split, but it's not trashed. I've got a small pile of parts from Rock Auto for whenever the time came to pick that scab (front axles/hubs/balljoints)

She's the bread maker, so we're planning on getting her whatever the hell she wants once we're out of the salt belt, something that has a cleaner life (and she wants to buy new and keep for a few decades so whatever)

As is here we'd be lucky to get $2k for it, so we're letting it go.

Still no word from the shop on my S60, maybe I'll be letting that go too

I would assume so, I think they're a lot like 00's subaru's where you can mix and match between models like lego's.

But this is the first Honda I've ever worked on, so I'm not the best resource

I'm always behind the 8 ball. Mine was that clean. I just didn't want to keep another thing around to maintain, wash, wax, change oil, keep tagged, insure, get tires, fix small stuff, etc.
They really are pretty capable things and incredibly easy to work on, but loud on the highway. I put the biggest white letter tire I could fit on it.
We live in a gridded neighborhood and with an alley in between the main streets and connecting at both ends to side streets. The City attacks the main routes and then side streets, getting to the alleys dead last.
I dug deep snow a few years back and gave myself a launch area, and plowed through snow that was 30" in some spots for half the block (and after making sure the end of the alley had no boulders. We were the only car on the road after getting cabin fever for a few days. After all that, nothing was open and we came home.

The replacement replacement valve body gasket apparently shipped via carrier pigeon, so it's not even back in the queue yet :|

estimating it'll show up Mon or Tues, ugh.

But I got a free Haynes for 240's off CL, so, score?

      Jay is in Florida.

Mexico I can see since it's a RoW market but why not Canada? Just not worth the effort since there isn't much there that can't be had here?

      Well have you seen this?

As bad as that is I'd still rather have one than a 4Runner, having had both on the highway. The 4Runner we had was so unsafe to drive that I refused to even ride in it the second day we had it.....went home and got the S60 and drove myself.

The Nissan Qashqai they tested there is sold here as a Rouge Sport. They incorrectly state in the video that it is the fastest car through the moose test. it is the second fastest. The 1999 CitroŽn Xantia Activa did it at 85km/h. In the next best 12 cars there are 8 different Porsche 911s, an Audi R8, a couple McLarens, and the AMG GT. Not at all surprised that the CitroŽn is still sitting on top, but I have no idea how the Quashqai handles that well lol.

I've also driven the Sorento like the one they tested. I was truly surprised how decent it was. I didn't love it but it was liveable most of the time, which is pretty high praise coming from me for any car in that class. The downfall was the transmission: I had to drive it on the Merritt Parkway and needed to pass some people, which wasn't really working out because the transmission took literally a full second to downshift through all the gears and give me any power. That may be acceptable in some places but, on the Merritt, your hole is long gone by the time that second has passed. Extremely disappointing compared to any automatic I've ever experienced in a Volvo.

This looks familiar, but maybe it's a new listing. Pretty clean in the few photos taken inside a garage. If I was in the market, I'd be all over this one.
