My fault for not servicing PCV, but my engine dumped all its oil out today. Managed to pull over and shut down very quickly. Engine has 230k on it and other than some piston slap when cold, has great compression and doesn't use any oil. There are no local Volvo shops around, but local jack-of-all-trades can probably fix (hopefully camshaft) seal and PCV. Don't have an estimate yet, but assuming US$1500 parts & labor.
I just noticed a B5234T9 online with less than 50K miles for $2000. No idea how much labor is involved in swap, or if the T9 can be swapped for a T3 in my car, but was wondering if I should just replace the engine. I'm probably due a clutch soon as well, It's been forever.
Since there are very few nice manual transmission wagons out there at any price, and mine is otherwise in pretty nice shape, I don't mind spending the money, but I'd like to make the smart choice here.
