      Nav Systems - Direct swap from DVD-based (pre-2008) to HDD-based (2008+)?

Does anyone know if the 2008 and later HDD-based Nav system is a direct swap into a pre-2008?

I know the system isnít as good as a phone-based nav, but it comes in somewhat handy when thereís no data available.

Iím just wondering if it would be worthwhile to grab the glove-box unit from a later model, if I should come across one...

      Thanks

Whoa, HDD? Man sounds like a prime swap for a cheap SSD...

I agree, but I need the part first and need to know if itíll work...

The version Iíve got only reads directly from a single DVD. Driving cross-country on I-70, I have to switch DVDs going into Missouri from Kansas. And in Europe, it requires a swap from Germany to France... not convenient when living near a border.

Even an HDD beats a DVD...
