I'm selling my 2002 V70 XC. Its a great car. I drive it 3 hours each way once a month for DR appointments. I'm only selling it because I need to leave a current living situation behind and the cash will help.
First, the bad...
It does have minor body damage from where a deer ran into me. Dented the front fender and the rear driver side door. I am replacing the front finder within the week with a matching color perfect condition fender. Passenger front door lock doesn't work all the time with the button or remote. And the worst part. It has a coolant weep. I do mean weep. It's had it since I bought the car in 2017. I add less than half a pint of coolant every 2-3 months. When the coolant gets to the low mark on the reservoir I add some to about the half way to high. It's just that slow. It's coming from the turbo return coolant line and is just due to a not perfect seal. During the summer months it doesn't always weep either. Just when it's cooler out.
So now the good...
Car has 215k on odometer. Replaced the engine about 9k miles ago (almost 2 years), it was pulled running from a rear end wreck with 80k miles. 79 something but close enough. Before it was installed, it got new water pump, timing belt, camshaft seals, pcv & catch can check (didn't need replaced). It does have a an upgraded turbo, charge air pipe from the r-design and stage 2 tune from Hilton because I planned on doing stuff with it but haven't. I have a box full of parts I was going to upgrade and never did. It was not my daily driver so it was not something I focused on and then things went down hill. Transmission has a new valve body installed about 15k ago. Had a Hayden transmission cooler and a magnetic inline transmission filter installed. It has upgraded bi-xenon projector headlights plus an additional led highbeam (1 set of lows, 2 sets of high). It has the factory optional high security laminated windows, subwoofer and hu-1205 head-unit. all the air bags and speakers have been replaced and visible on carfax. It's a 75th anniversary edition. It is prewired if you are an amateur radio operator, radio goes with me, antenna stays. AWD works great. I've driven it onto Fort Fisher, NC where a lot of trucks get stuck. Upgraded rotors and pads, front and rear. It has a switchblade key plus a spare security key (non-starting), bluetooth, replaced the torque mounts top and bottom about 1 year ago, both engine mounts front and rear about 3 months ago, side one is still good. Also has new tires. 1.5k so far. Nokian enTyres. As I said I have a bunch of extra parts too, polyurethane control arm bushings and extra ignition coils, TCV, stuff like that. 2 new k&n oil filters. I've only ever used full synthetic too.
[edit 1: also rebuilt the alarm module to replace battery, new fuel pump a year ago... Oh and I have the roof rack cross bars too]
[edit 2: FYI, the HU-1205 has digital over air radio (hd) and analog]
[edit 3: about a year ago, replaced the cat, it's a factory cat nothing fancy]
I bought it from a marine that bought it overseas and brought it back with him through the overseas military program Volvo offered. It's a great car and I don't want to let it go but my current situation dictates I have to. I've been looking at cars locally on dealer lots, auto trader and others selling and feel like I don't know what I can ask. 2002 V70 FWDs are going for 3500-5000 in NC. A few V70XC and XC70s 2002-2004 going between 4000-6000. None of which have any of the options mine has or upgrades.
Make me a fair offer if you are interested.
